Killing the armorer in Majula
I reap up that killing the armorer in Majula drops his set which functions like serpent ring. I also read up that he sells some pretty good stuff as I progress through the game.
Can I kill him, take his set and revive him?

you can farm that set later. no need to kill him

Yes, he drops his armor set (Tseldora armor) to farm a lot of souls. However, killing him you can wait some hour of real time for see him as a ghost and (at cost of 2.000 souls) you can trade with him again.

Do I have to wait a total of 2.5 hour in 1 go or I can play 30 mins every day and he'll be back in 5 days?

His inventory doesn't update when he's dead so killing him when you're interested in his stuff is pretty stupid.

But I can revive him after 2.5 hours of real time so wouldn't it be a good trade?

But he will not sale the new armors no matter what if he is a ghost.

His inventory does not update, means that his inventory will stay at the level you killed him at. So if you kill him when he has basic equipment, he will forever have just basic equipment for sale as a ghost.

He normally sells you additional stuff after you spend a certain amount of souls (eg, 15k) on him, or after you kill specific bosses (eg, Smelter Demon). He won't do that if you kill him before reaching those points. So his inventory will remain the same as at the moment you killed him. You'll need to go to the next ng cycle to truely 'reset' him.

Did you not read what I've posted? His inventory won't update if he's dead so if you nuke the dude at the start and want the smelter gear or whatever, you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the whole game until you start NG+ and play through NG+ up to the point where the inventory updates with the stuff you want. Summoning him will just let you buy whatever stuff he had available before being killed.

Aah, thanks for clearing it. Started a INT/FAITH build and really need a lot of stats. I guess the Serpent Ring +1 will have to do for now.
I'd like to add that he mainly sells heavy and medium sets. He doesn't have any good light sets for sale, none better than you can get elsewere, anyway. Apart from a few items like the handcuffs, he has nothing for casters. The Tseldora set is good if you can dodge reliably as it lets you farm more souls more quickly.

That said, only the legs can't be replaced by another, better item.

I asked the same question on another Forum and 2-3 people said after I spend 16k souls on him and he becomes cocky, I can safely kill him and when he revives he will sell boss stuff.

Going by the entry on wikidot (http://darksouls2.wikidot.com/maughlin-the-armourer), I'd say that's right! That info could be wrong, though, obviously.. ;)
