You might also want to watch this, since this is a cool thing you can do with PS (and it's ez):

Some strong combinations are katanas with straight swords or thrusting swords.
Santier's Spear (broken) and Helix Halberd is very fun to play with.
Majestic GS is also neat ( you only need 38 Str/Dex to ps that).
Warped Sword has a very powerful dual strong attack but it also empties your stamina bar which makes you vulnerable if you miss. Enemies that can dodge your attacks seem to roll away from you very often when you do it and in some very strange situations where they usually just take the hit. The dual hammer turtle guy in the abyss even rolled out of his own jump attack to avoid being hit by it. NPC invaders often roll to avoid small weapon dual attacks probably because they count as two different attacks(part of their stunlock prevention) and Warped Sword's dual strong attack may count as 4 since it's pretty much same as if you did the regular curved sword dual strong attack twice in a row.
Early big bois are Greatsword and Large or Great Club, doesn't need that much stats for powerstancing.
Curved GS + Ultra makes the R1>L1 quite fast and R1s with CGS aren't as slow and don't leave you as open as Ultra ones.
Funny, I just solve that by getting closer to the enemy. :/
If you're good, you can make it work. ;)
So? Adapt. You've played long enough to know how to do that, so why are you complaining so much about it? Just need to be "right?"
