How Should I Traverse Harvest/Poison Valley?

This area is full of bad poison, and I'm lacking in poison resistance. How does one go about in this area without getting poisoned to death? Should I buy lots of fruit from the Rat King? Or should I save this area for later?

You can outheal poison damage by chugging down estus, so that gives you some time. Other than that, I had to use about 20 herbs that cure poison to gather every piece of loot there.

Well I mean there's the whole 'safe path' where there isn't poison, sure you might have to dip your feet in a bit but you should be able to get out in time before being poisoned. As for all the items lying inside the poison, just pick them up, down some estus to maintain your health, and trot back to the bonfire

Seems like a good idea. Those exploding guys on the first poison mist field are sure to give me trouble (I'm fragile against curse damage), so should I lure them out?
