Mastodon halberd not dropping

I am in Doors of Pharros, have champion covenant active and I am farming mastodons, but halberd wont drop after hour of farming, is there something changed or am I doing something wrong?

Nothing changed, you know how probability works don't you? You're never guaranteed to get anything even after a lifetime of tries.

I have prisoners rags, the merchant hat and dragon shield, if nothing is changed, I had just bad luck, will try it again, really want to try the halberd

It's just bad luck. Dark Souls has the absolute worst probability for item drops in recent memory. It really ruins the experience, at times.

Also you can try covetous gold serpent ring +1. Trade with Magerold for 10k and then talk with him - He'll give you the ring.

Dark Souls 2 is the worst offender of drop rates in the entire series, and any game I've ever played that's not an MMO. There's not much you can do other than use a Symbol of Avarice, Gold Serpent Ring+2, Prisoner's Tatters, Watchdragon Parma, and a Rusted Coin while you farm for something. And don't up the bonfire level or you might have an even worse time, unless you have to(which you do for a few items in this game.).
