question about engraved gauntlets

I was testing them lately and found out that on bosses the damage increase isn't exactly 50% as stated in the wiki, it's more like 10/20%? and on some enemies it's 100% so uh.... what affects the dasmage increase exactly? sure there's alot of wrong infos and stats on the wiki, such as the matchmaking "tiers" (nope, they're all wrong.) and other infos :/

Counter damage plays a factor also, but I'm not sure of the numbers. But if you hit a counter + the gauntlet's critical with a high counter damage weapon, the damage is considerable. An uchigatana for example with it's 150 counter will do crazy damage on those critical hits.

what about spells then? they cant normally counter or am I wrong? :/

like, my dark orb did like 940 crt damage instead of 480 to the hammer bois in harvest valley

To be honest I think there several hidden modifiers that will vary from weapon to weapon or even from attack to attack. And personally, I've never used the gauntlets on a caster. Only on builds with fast high counter weapons for the crazy counter/critical damage.

why wouldn't you use them on casters?? when spells crit. (even on players) they deal a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of damage, could do 1900 damage with a css to an invader o.o

I wasn't saying it wasn't good, just that I never have. I fell in love with that katana/thrusting sword counter-critical damage. Seriously tho, try it with a chaos blade.

And I am a big fan of heavenly thunder by the way. Criticals or not, I think it's the best offensive miracle in the game. Even better than any of the "spears". A lot of people knock on damage miracles, but as soon as you can get heavenly thunder, it's on like Donkey Kong.

lmfao damn you almost have me wanting to come out of retirement just to try an engraved gauntlets heavenly thunder miracle caster. Use the lion mage set, black hood, blue clearstone +2 and a lightning dragon chime +5. And then just stand there and spam the thunda!!

uhh if your talking pvp there buttercup, don't you think I'd probably have a melee weapon ready to smite you with? The miracles are mostly for destroying pve bosses in co op or wake up damage after ripostes, guardbreaks or backstabs in pvp. Not as a main attack in pvp.

I basically insta cast it with 99fth and 95atn so I just use the clearstone ring+2 for cspd, and for the head I either use the sanctum priestess tiara so I cant be muted or the saint's hood for extra casts

the cast animation is slow enough to where you can just run away... unless you use it on wake up, but then i can just block it.
