intelligence and faith, but yes. Both contribute to it, and it effectively caps at a total score of 60.
I'm probably leaning more towards Sorcerer because of higher attunement in addition to higher intelligence + faith than Cleric's (but only slightly)
Of course, the issue is, I don't know what sort of weapon I would want to wield on this build.
If you can get one the possesed armour sword is a good pick. Its a longsword with inate firedamage that can be infused. Cant be buffed as it has a self buff comparable to the watchers and defenders gs. If you can find it or want something else, all the black knight weapons work very well.
I might also stop by Felkin for the Chaos Rapier.
But then I might just also stick with the Flame Longsword.
A tough choice...
I agree about the lack of a pyromancer class though. There was really no good reason not to have it, and no good reason to have Explorer.
Example: You don't plan to use any heavy armor and weapons with low Str-requirements - pick the Swordsman.
You don't use any melee - pick the Sorcerer.
You don't use any Dex-weapons - pick the Cleric.
In general the Sorcerer is probably a good allrounder for Pyromancers, but assuming that you'll go for actual weapons you've to pump lots of points into Str and Dex to even wield the most basic weapons, that can be pretty annoying in the early game.
As soon as you're half an hour into the game the starting class doesn't even matter any longer.
Ehhh I think it matters, mostly because even with a soul vessel, you can't go below your class minimum on stats... or so I've read.
Already using a halberd on one character, a mace on another (with the goal of eventually using the Archdrake mace), dual caestus on another, an archer who has a rapier for her side weapon, and I'm gonna go for the moonlight greatsword on a sorcerer.
The halberd-user and the mace-user are going for heavier armor, the caestus-user going for light armor, and the sorcerer pretty much sticking to cloth.
Pyromancer... hmm... I could go for a quirky weapon like a whip... but then that might not be such a great idea.
Well, I could always go very classic Pyromancer and pick an axe, like the starting weapon of the Pyromancer. Question is, should I go for the hand axe, the battle axe, or the bandit axe?
...Or pump strength up even higher and pick the Black Knight Greataxe?
Or maybe go for an (Ultra) Greatsword? Smelter Sword is a thing...
Ah dang now I'm considering too many options XD
Black knight greataxe damage will be become quite high, even moreso when you buff and infuse it. Down is that it is slow, and requires you to hit the sweetspot for full damage. As such it is not a good weapon as a backup for a caster.
EDIT:
OR I could use either the Blacksmith's Hammer or the Craftman's Hammer. It would work thematically, too, because forges and flames, too.
The club looks like it'd be fun because i'd basically be wielding a flaming stick.
Id still go for the possesed armor sword. It looks like youd expect a pyromancy weapon to look. Only downside is that you cant buff it, it can only selfbuff.
That is definitely a consideration, but a late game one - I'll need something to use in the meantime.
Hmmm, it might be a bit impractical for a caster once again, but a fire infused lost sinners sword would do a hell of a lot of damage. As for smaller weapons... i dont really know anything earlygame that would work well with fire.
Pick a weapon with high base damage, crap scaling and infuse it id say =p
So i think a mace of some sort would be a good earlygame weapon.
