Flynn's ring.
So I noticed a significant increase in my damage when I used the ring to it's full potential, no equipment load rings and only 14 vit. This is pretty good. But this stops me from using vit at all, which stops me from using the cool looking armor sets, which is usually very heavy. Is the tradeoff worth it?

It's 50 physical AR, regardless of infusions. Pretty good for light and quick stuff. Not as effective with heavy arsenal.
It's of course subjective, but there's a ton of nice-looking light armor. Mostly clothing-style (well, obviously).

Argh, so hard to choose between being practical and looking stylish.

Considering how nicely a lot of light sets look, your problem seems pretty artificial to me...

I really like the look of the Drakeblood set. The rest don't appeal to me very much.

I can understand where he's coming from. Not everyone wants to look like quick flipping ninja in cloth or leather. Although this otherwise great game does try to force you into light armor.

It's all about fashion souls, though, OP. If you want to wear Drakeblood, it's certainly viable, if not meta. Ditch Flynn's ring. Put points in Vitality at least to 29. Wear Ring of Favor. Probably wear Royal Soldier's Ring, too. I'd try to keep equip under 60%, certainly under 70%, so you're not at a huge disadvantage in mobility and stamina regen. It's doable.

You're definitely not forced to use lighter sets. It's just that facetanking isn't the smartest start and heavy armor will allow a few more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, especially considering all the Estus/ other healing wares you can save over time by taking overall less damage - which you can admittedly avoid by getting gud at rolling on point. It's like HP, treat it like an insurance.

Here : 40 vigor
12 vitality
25 endurance
30 atunement
20 strenght
40 dex
40 faith
sacrade Oeath + Sun light Blade

lighting murakumo +10 and Black Steels Katana +10
Third Dragon Ring, Flyns Ring, Ring Of Blades +2, Chloranty Ring +2

Have fun doing 1600+ damage in any trade, and 1 shot parry reposts and back stabs (of course double buff)

14 VIT on its own is too far to use with Flynns, plus Third Dragon will add more equip load, which will reduce AR bonus even more. 11 VIT on a bandit is default, and with TDR you can get up to 60-70 poise with upper 60% load, while your AR bonus will only be reduced by like 5.

14 if you don't use the 3rd Dragon Ring will give the full bonus, so it's quite good if you're running a light build with Chloranthy, Flynns, Blades and Life/Leo/Tearstone.
