Are miracles worth it anymore?
Back in dark souls 1 I loved using lightning spears, but apperently they nerfed that into the ground... Along with miracles in general, are miracles worth using?

I am always having faith in all my characters ^.^miracles all the way! And yes they're still worth it.. You dont have to fling all the time :3 but yeah timing is all you need and then you'll be throwing sunlight spears at your enemies face.,..my favourites has to be...healing spells because i am a ♥♥♥♥♥ who regenerate hp ^.^ and you've heavenly thunder which is pretty good.. And really good vs giant enemies that you can go under..

Defensively, yes. Offensively, only lategame.

Early game force is a good surprise guard breaker and just annoying and trolish xD. Heavenly thunder is pretty early game if you ask me..just rememeber to use the faith ring.. Also emit force is pretty good in ds2 ^.^

in PVE and boss fights I find buffs and barriers to be great but they can become useless in the arena and other pvp if they simply wait you out. healing miracles can be really good if you want to save your estus for the boss fight or to heal NPC's.

in large groups going after a boss I would at times use sacred oath and whisper of despair for a super fast win.

So, if I were to go with miracles, faith and attunement should be major, anything else (excluding vit end and vig) should be minor

They tend to be situational.

Force line spells tend to be nice for knocking enemies off cliffs and whatnot.

And spears?

Theyre still good

I can only repeat what I already said, a the beginning the offensive stuff is worthless, but it catches up to the other schools in the late game. The support spells are always good.

So I don't use spears in the EARLY game, but instead I hold off on them until either mid or late game?

Pretty much.

Dark Souls 2 miracles are so worth it.
Beat the Pursuer and the Ruin Sentinels to access Straid and then buy the best offensive miracle in the game: Heavenly Thunder.
Only requires 1 slot and 17 Faith, its essentially a fast-casting lightning version of the Firestorm type Pyromancies.
So many things are weak to lightning in this game that miracles and Faith builds are just so incredibly viable for PvE. Old Iron King dies in 7 casts of Heavenly Thunder on NG+. And there is enough variety in how the spells work to make them viable in PvP as well!
Remember to Lightning infuse the chime you're using to boost the Faith scaling and Lightning damage from miracles cast with it.

... Except that Straid doesn't sell Heavenly Thunder. You can get it after killing the Old Dragonslayer tho. It's honestly the one and only spell that's worth it in the early game and that fact is depressing.
