Also using thrust weapons makes you does not lick the walls after each attack, but also you can spot that durability gets down after each successfull attack on the enemy also

Okay, Yearn needs 4 more points of INT than the other three, so perhaps it's not worth it.
I had uchigatana, a spear, and a staff as my weapons to go through a certain level.
By the time I got to the boss, all three were heavily damaged.
And, during the boss fight, they all got down to 1 durability, and I had to rush through my inventory (while running and hiding) to find something to use as a weapon (that I actually had appropriate stats for).
So... yeah... be sure to know how to aim and not spam attacks blindly.
Once you get to Drangleic Castle you'll want to buy the +1 version immediately. I forgot where the +2 version was, but it definitely exists in regular NG so you don't have to Bonfire Ascetic.
