Solaire cosplay?
It's a b*tch to get but I think having the full heide knight set is the ultimate sunbro armor set. It looks like a crusader, it's white, and the helm is similar to solaire's helm. The tower shield has a huge sun on the front ready to protect you and your host(s) from evil. Then just level the normal stats you usually level but your focus would be strength, faith, attunement, vitality and adp (for natural poise, sunbros need to be able to tank for their hosts so even if you get hit at least you can poise through it). In the Lost Bastille after the ruin sentinels there's the priests chime in a metal chest which has A scaling in lighting damage iirc so you should get that asap. Until then use the cleric's sacred chime you get if you start as cleric or if you start as another class there's a cleric's sacred chime on a small ledge in majula (it's kind of hard to explain where it is so look up a youtube video if you need to). The ideal ring setup imo would be chloranthy+1 or +2, clear bluestone+2, ring of blades+1 (until you can get ring of blades +2, it's optional as it kind of difficult to get), and ring of giants+1 for extra poise. You could swap out the ring of giants+1 for the sunbro ring if you want the extra miracle damage and feel like a true sunbro.

what about the SUN SWORD?

Sunlight Parma is meta, because it's sooooooo shiny:

Weapon can be anything you use in 2 hands, so the shield goes on your back. I avoid armors with capes, because they distract from the glorious shield.

Sure why not? I mean it is basically solaire's sword. Idk the scaling but I would infuse it with lightning. Okay turns out it has A scaling in strength and dex which is why I recall people saying 40 str 40 dex is good for it. I think that's too many level points though. Just infuse it with lightning and level strength. If you want a shield that looks like solaire's shield i'd suggest the mirrah shield which is in kind of a hidden spot in Earthen Peak inside a metal chest.

That sword is all about scaling. Never infuse it.

I know it had has amazing str and dex scaling but for a sunbro build I would force myself to infuse it. It's not a true sunbro sword without infusing it with lightning.

Solaire didn't infuse his sword! Although he also didn't play DS2... If he'd seen he could buff an infused sword in Drangleic, he might have infused it.

True. If solaire somehow existed in dark souls 2 and he found out he could infuse his sword with lightning and still use sunlight blade on it he would cry sunlight filled tears of joy (even though he never used sunlight blade in das1 as far as we know). So yeah op I guess it would be smarter to just leave it uninfused even though if it were me i'd probably infuse it just because LIGHTNING.

just do my paladin of light build. I promise you will be immortal up till the DLCS. Royal knight armor, royal kite shield, thorned greatsword, Or Warped sword if you really want to bring the pain. Great heal , Sunlightblade, great magic barrier, and just because I am a cheeky ♥♥♥♥, W.o.G.
(Some people prefer sacred oath over SLB and GMB but I don't like how its 3 attunment slots and it doesn't stack with GMB.

Start bandit.

strength/dex to use the weapon, Health and stamina till you are happy. I recommend at least 4 slots of attunment. then faith dump untill you can use dragonchime (50 faith)

this build butter knifes through the vanilla game and..Most gankers and counter gankers.

how long will that take though? im currently having trouble handling the HOLLOWS (low level, moderately EASY enemies) that the game seems to be sending out on mass, im trying to get everything available before the FIRST BOSS, and i keep dying by being GANKED BY LOW LEVEL ENEMIES THAT COME IN WAVES OF 4 OR MORE THAT CONTSTANTLY PUT ME INTO A CYCLE OF DYING BECAUSE SOME RANDOM DEV THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO GIVE LARGE WEAPONS TO EARLY ENEMIES.

i WAS planning on using the defenders greatsword though, i heard it had s scaling it lightning, emphisis on HAD
AngelBird Nov 13, 2017 @ 7:54pm
That honestly depends on you. Royal knight armor you can get In Majula after you upgrade the merchants stocks about 6,000-10,000 souls.

you can get the royal kite shield from McDuff in lost bastil for 2,000 souls (After you give him the ember)

I prefer the thorned greatsword because of the special, really great for punishing players for making bad choices like running to heal thinking its safe. warped sword you get from straid in lost bastil after freeing him from stone by giving him a fragrent branch of yore

Essentually you can get the armor and shield with in the first few bosses. which in itself is a huge asset, Tons of armor rating and a 100% physical defence shield. Pad yourself with 30 vigor and and Use ether the rapier or axe untill thorned greatsword, or you could turn in ruined sentry's soul for about 1,500 souls to straid for warped sword and MURDER ANYTHING THAT MOVES.

Seriously do what ever you want to the warped sword. it doesn't matter it is just that powerful.

Thorned greatsword is a bit later but, I still think its worth it. to get it you have to beat the looking glass knight and turn his soul into If I remember you get it from ornifex. Her quest is pretty easy though, Free her in the shaded woods and go to her house in brightstone cove (Just after the warlock boss Lite the bonfire and go down to the ground level, the door is openable but, beware of spider enemys (the casters can't get you in there.

Why not try to do a play through with some one? Make a thread make sure to get some one who is patient with you.

Well that'd be featured by a Solaire-build... off the top of my head: Sun Sword, Old Knight Shield/Mirrah Shield/Stoen Parma (Solaire's ACTUAL shield is much bigger than the tiny small shield we get in this game from the Heirs of Sun cov), Heide Knight Greathelm, Insolent Chest, idk Gauntlets and Leggings.

Solaire's sword has pure physical damage in all games. It'd not only be less fitting, but also ineffective to infuse the Sun Sword.

Since Miracles suck till lategame anyway, it's best to just start as a quality build and get a bit of Faith for the buffs, poison cure and heals first instead of pumping it to 50 asap. That's more viable.
Get to the Havrest Valley asap, get the Agape Ring asap and do some early game coop for all the sunlight medals you need for maxing the covenant. It's much less convenient if you want to do it later.
