Shrine of Amana - worst level out of every souls game

just learned that those annoying ass mages who fire nonstop magic missiles also have an aoe fully healing miracle to help their archdrake buds

i hate this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level will someone help me (sm 1.2million ng crumbled ruins bonfire)

its not a bad level. it just a level that troubles bad players honestly.

you dont have to fight hard if you fight smart. try luring them out one at a time. archery and posion arrows is an often overlooked easy mode aswell...

About a week or two ago I just walked through that area with my twink in NG+ np and the first bonfire is at intensity 6... the others at 2. still a cake walk if you slow down and walk through it smart instead of trying to run through it strong.

I rage quit my 1st character in Shrine of Amana after losing 100k souls. He's still logged out there at level 141 and will never leave.

when doing difficult PVE, I suggest wearing the Agape ring with your on person souls as close to zero as you can get it. that way you dont loose souls trying to get back to them or end up leaving a whole bunch of souls in a boss fight. take the ring off just before the boss fight if you want the souls and the extra ring.

a few npc summons helped as well as using a billion effigies for dying to cheese

Get a bow and poison arrows, with 3 shots you can take down one mage.

Ohh... this is the post Morsk was talking about! I agree with you.. I hate strine of amana so much! it hurt me so much trying to play though it with Morsk on NG+3. NG+ was super easy but then NG+2 made it so much harder... and then the boss is just a disappointment. I feel like a lot of DS2 bosses are just sad like Covetous demon, demon of song, freja, prowling mangus and even the looking glass knight. Might just be me but I feel like a lot of these bosses are just way to easy and then the path is painful.

How did you get as far as Shrine of Amana when you're so impatient? Even with the minimum dex required to use a short bow a +10 short bow with poison arrows should make quick work of the area. Lonesome Gavlaan sells unlimited poison arrows if you got him to the Doors of Pharros. Also there are at least two shields in the game that can have 100% magic resist (the rebel's greatshield and the magic shield that drops from the ghost sorcerers in the undead crypt. It's a small parrying shield with very high magic resist). Then there are other shields you can loot naturally or get from a boss soul that have decent physical and magic resist (the archdrake shield you find in the lost bastille behind a breakable wall and the looking glass knight shield. If you infuse either of them with a faintstone they will have almost 100% magic resist). If you don't like being meticulous and go play some casual game that rewards wrecklessness or that lets you save at any point in the game (i.e. skyrim).

edit: oh right, you can't get to the undead crypt because you're still in shrine of amana...hahaha. oh the cruel irony.
