Gyrm Greatshield is the best shield for killing that boss. Not that it's very difficult anyway. Blue Smelter Demon in Brume Tower on the other hand...

Making it to the boss fight in one piece is the hardest part there, boss itself isn't very different.

You literally just used the best shield for that fight, and called then called it a joke lol. Any shield with less than 100% fire defence will make the fight much more difficult due the chip damage alone. Expericed players won't try to block his attacks if possible for that very reason.

Realistally speaking covetous demon will be easy regeardless of what equipment you use. Semlter Demon will seem really easy only if you use the grym greatshield.

Funnily when I went into the fight I didn't even think about n. Shield lol. Anyways it becomes an ez fight because most people should have that shield by the time they get to that boss

Not necessarily, you can go any way you want during the first part of DS2. So there's no guarentee that people will have the grym greatshield for that fight. In fact of of all the people i have helped with the Smelter Demon fight (in both scholar and vanilla) I have not seen a single person weild the grym greatshield for that fight XD. Somehow things just worked out very conveniently for you lol

I've beaten him alone with a caestus+10 powerstanced with vanquisher's seal. It was actually pretty easy since the DPS you can dish out is very high, provided you know how to dodge his attacks

The smelter demon is pretty simple, when his in his blue stage is kinda annoying. Not hard just plain annoying. The whole iron keep is just pretty annoying like the old iron king he is so slow its just sad.

i laways where light armor which has very low defences the only thing i don't like is his aoe fire (or magic becuase of blue smelter) fire damage over time

By using that shield you're essentially playing in "easy difficulty setting", so how can you say it was easy? I beat it without a shield aka "hard" difficulty settings. Anyway, I can barely consider you beat the game with those builds, it's almost as bad as summoning someone to do it for you.
