Fix a durability bug without ban?
Me and my friend are currently running through a DS2, and this bug is driving me insane. Can we both use the DS2Fix without getting banned? Is there a way to make it so we won't be available for other players, so it won't be considered cheating?

You shouldn't be able to avoid the bann. Anyway the bug was fixed long time ago, but the durability of some weapons is really low. You should have other weapons to change, or use repair powder, or the repair spell.

Wait, you mean weapons are suppose to break that fast? I can run through several locations in DS3, without needing to repair, here every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time I play I feel like I have a paper sword. And why shouldn't I be able to avoid ban if I don't cheat, but fix stuff devs didn't fix (again, if DS2Fix won't change the way durability works, then of course I won't need it).

I don't know how DS2Fix works, but I know you can get banned for any mod, even texture mods.
And yes weapons, specialle fast small ones, break so fast that in some bosses you have to use repair powder or change weapon. Just with the boss. In DS3 dirability is just useless, you bearly never get even close to breaking anything.

Just great...

I remember my heavy swords from other playthrough not being durable at all, just like my both katanas now.

None is really durable. Anyway if you don't like that, one way to ''cheat'' it is duplicating repair powder or the weapons itselfs so you can just repair or change them when their durability is low. You can do it with your friend using backups, and it's totally ban safe

That's not a problem. I have a lot of powders. I just really hate how often I have to use them. Anyway. I just defeated Demon of Song, so not like I can't tolerate it, if I tolerated it this long.

Thanks for clearing it up.

I honestly never felt it, maybe because it was my first game and couldn't compare to the other two

It's just a complete non issue in all the other games. Seriously, it's incredibly hard to break your stuff in 1, 3 or even Bloodborne and Demon's Souls.

The only times I was breaking weapons in the first game, was either corrosion or acid or whatever you call it, or when I used special ability (e.g. Havel's shield crystallization) too often.

I always liked the durability of DS2 as it's actually something to watch out for, and try to prevent, rather than the "this number goes down real slow so just ignore it" approach on the other games.

I hate durability in games in general it is a lazy mechanic and often completely unneeded.

If you hate durability then try using this ring:

Yeah, it doesn't help much tbh, especially until +2, plus there are far more useful rings.
