Is it worth it to fight the Blue Smelter Demon
I've been trying to go up against this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for about 2 hours and I am losing all hope. Been going back and forth through the area to try and kill off the enemies enough times so they don't come back, and its taking up so much of my time.

Git gud.

And no, its probably not worth, but if you wanna kill all bosses, you know what to do.

Want to co-op? What's your soul memory at?

It's worth it for the Pharros Mask after the boss.

it's worth it for the satisfaction of killing him? :P I know i had to severely change my fighting style in order to beat him. worth noting that he deals magic damage, not fire, and he is weak to poison. so you might want to pay a visit to Gavlan to grab that poison weapon stuff.

Those bonus boss areas in the DLCs were designed with co-op in mind. Get some sunbros to make the experience. Or use the npcs till you get to the boss.

Unless you like the challenge or want the stupid mask, it is not worth it doing it (alone).

I think most of us just ignore the enemies and run/roll through them.

hard to do that in heavy armor. i was wearing full ironclad armor with the dual sheilds and those "slow you down" enemies made me unable to move :P

so yeah, i put on some lighter armor and grabbed a spear, started hunting those dang wizards to extinction until i could go through no problem.

Sad thing is my Soul Memory is probably too high for anyone to even try to co-op with, and the NPC's are almost dead by the time I even reach the boss

Which is good, because the npcs inflate the boss health (any summon does) and are to dumb to stay alive and be of help.
"Bashful Ray" or "Bradley of the Old Guard" they are not.

He's easy and very weak against thrusting attacks.

No. I spent 3 hours clearing a way. NPC backup is not worth it.

The boss itself is not too bad. Just a matter of rolling and timing. Imbue your weapon with dark, and have some magic resistance.

ya.. i didn't mind this boss and it's kinda alright to have fire smelter and magic smelter bosses under the belt and all the groovy stuff that goes with it, but yes as Angry Floof said, pump your magic resistance and he's not too bad.

and yes.. they did make it a bit of work to actually get to the boss. pretty blue sword..
