Prowling Magus way too hard?
Hey there.

Everybody's saying, Prowling Magus us the easiest boss.
I don't think so. I walk in the room and get killed in a matter of seconds.
Every other boss (f.e. lost sinner) is a 100000000 times easier, but I simply cannot handle this one.
But it's a general problem, I can't deal with multiple enemies at once...
So, can you give me a tip how to defeat this sh*t. I have tried 30 times now...

I think the general strategy is sweeping attack for multiple enemies, i use fire longsword there before. what i did is targeting the priest-enemy first. hope it can help!

On a side note, i like this boss because the battle feel and the theme really creep me out.

Use furniture to your advantage. Take care of both casters first, then eliminate the dark magic one. The rest is just mobs.

Kill the crawlers in the ground first. You can roll to dodge the lightning spears pretty easily. Go for the 2 clerics first. All of them are weak to lightning.

Hit and run, hide behind furniture to heal, and no lock-on.
I recommend getting Benhart to help you, he's a very tanky NPC Summon with the strength to match his health, I also recommend using weapons like spears/greatswords and backstabbing the Clerics, since their cast time is so long.

Overall, I recommend also not going near the Magus until the entire congregation is destroyed, at least for the Clerics.

Overall, the Magus IS actually quite easy, you just need to know what you're doing and what their weaknesses are: Aka, having a test-run of the Boss to figure out what it does before actually risking it, in quote, "Ring of Soul Protection", it's really helpful for first-time runs into areas you don't know.

Its amazing the the seemingly, dis info you get about Scholar. Its almost like people never wanted this game to succeed.........two words ARTIFICIAL DIFICULTY, nobody says this anymore because its the most handicapped senseless two words ever created That were litterally created just for Scholar of the First Sin. lol seriously.........SotFS nearly redefined the dictionary, the urban one.

DS3 mobs are way more ferocious than DS2 ones, and most fights are 2v1 at least, which is why I mostly just run past them instead. Easier that way. Don't even get me started on bosses, they're the definition of "artificial difficulty" IMO.

That's just a response to your crazy rolling ability. Generally I found PvE in DS3 to be easier than in DS2. If you run past enemies then you learn nothing.

How to PvE in Dark Souls 3.

Just like everything else in this game, spam R1 and stunlock everyone because who needs poise anyway ?

I'd not say Prowling Magus is hard, per say, but they can sometimes do this fun thing where they nuke you while you are still locked in the fog door animation. By "fun", I of course mean infuriating.

if you kill the 2 clerics that heal most of them your basically in the clear

This fight is generally pretty easy, but since there's literally a dozen enemies trying to kill you it's easy to get overwhelmed.
-Don't break the water jars, being wet radically reduces your defense to electrical attacks.
-Never stand still.
-It's easier to dodge stuff if you move towards the projectiles and then change directions at the last second. Try to move in for a few hits, then rush to the opposite side of the room, wait for an opening and then repeat.
-Projectiles of your own will also help, but be careful not to leave yourself open to magic attacks.

Beat the mobs first, they're the threat here, simply because they can ruin any strategy by hitting you out of nowhere and leaving you open for lightning bolts. Go from one end of the room to another in order to fight. Casters won't move so you'll see their attacks more easily and take care of the mobs while watching them.
After you've dealt with the mobs, take down the two clerics. The dark mage can be a pain since it's difficult to avoid both dark waves that knock you down and lightning bolts.
Finally, deal with the big guy. He doesn't have much health so it'll be done quickly.

Or, people could not talk about it because they realized it's not harder, it's just not painfully easy like the original release.
