The Defender's Shield is overall a bit better, but the greatshield-stability is really a good reason to use the Twindragon. Lots of stuff can bounce off. In PvP it makes backstab-fishing easier.
20 Strength isn't much, actually most builds run (or should run) that. 20 Str/40 Dex is the usual Dex-build.
I didn't find 20 str to be hard to acquire at all. I just killed a few ogres and hollow soldiers and had it before crestfallen retreat bonfire. I saw some people complaining about the physical resistance but I don't get it lmao. Blocking a nutty 1000dmg attack with this thing at +10 deals a whopping 39 chip dmg... Who cares? Totally worth that sweet 73 stability and 7 weight. Defenders only gets 65 stability maxed at +5 and only weighs 2 less; also because the twin dragon goes to +10 it ends up with very comparable resistances except fire when both are maxed.
Ooh, parries. Losing those does sort of suck but I'm bad enough that I'd never go for them anyways.
