oh... so its kinda like State of Decay and State of Decay YOSE? where its just a remastered game with new features and weapons? so it doesn't matter which i buy?

Different enemy and item placement, remastered game etc. The PvP and coop are segregated by edition (scholar non-scholar.

The current humble monthly bundle has scholar edition as the guarantee so that's probably your best buy.

okay so its not like different story right? it still follows the same story as Dark Souls 2 regular?

By and large it's the same. Scholar edition does add some exposition in certain places, although it's entirely possible to miss that content if you skip a certain optional boss.

Also Scholar has the DLC's, the "normal" DS2 not.

If you are debating between which version to buy get SotFS simply because there are more people playing online.

SotFS is also significantly harder for first timers. But yes, buy this version even if the other is available.

The only reason to buy Vanilla is to speed run.

Scholar has better item placement, better enemy placement, higher difficulty, and the fact that it's both 64bit and directx11 means it runs far better.

Vanilla got said content patched in just before SotFS dropped.

There's still stuff exclusive to Scholar, like the placement changes, new invaders, new npc summons, etc.
