Build for Blue Flame

I'm 20-odd hours into the game and can get spells from multiple different vendors, and so I'm considering respeccing to a sorcery build to use with the Blue Flame weapon. My friend told me to go with a crit build in combination with the sorceries, with a small shield or caestus to get parries with. Is this a good idea, or should I not bother with trying for parties and just use the magic?

id say use a staff weapon combo with only high power scorcery and buffs :) here however i can help.

there is so much wrong with what you are suggesting

the blue flame is a toy. if you want a real staff, us the staff of wisdom or the witchree branch.

for pve, parries can be situationally helpful. the parrying dagger or buckler are the two you should be thinking about.

My main pvp was dual Blue Flames with crystal buffs and the illusion rings.

If your int is below 50, use a raw one. If it's over 50, use a magic one. Don't forget ya blue clearstone ring +2 for decent speed.
