Iron Keep Disappearance
There's basically Alonne Knights and Alonne Captains everywhere. After a while, I noticed the population of these knights was disappearing. I'm not complaining that half the enemies are gone, but it's weird and I don't see anything that would trigger it. They still respawn after I kill them. Maybe the game likes me? Or maybe I'm just dying to the boss a lot (I am) and it's being nice? I honestly want to know.

They start to despawn after you kill them enough times.

after so many times being killed, the enemies will stop spawing. not sure of the exact number of kills.

About twelve, but I think they may disappear earlier.
BTW, Alonne Knights are katana weaboos and shall not live, feel good that they have began to extinct.

All basic enemies despawn after 10-13 kills of them. People notice it most in the Iron Keep because it's one of the harder areas of the game if you move linearly through that area.

I never realized I've gone through the Iron Keep so much. I cannot beat the bosses, and I ran out of human effigies long ago.

If you get summoned somewhere, if you help them beat the boss, you'll have your Estus Flasks refilled and you'll be human again. Do that if you absolutely need to be human (Plus more souls ^_^). Which boss are you attacking? Smelter or Old Iron King?

you can place your sign down with your soap stone and help others to unhollow and if you running short on effigies you can farm them by killing dogs with a decent item find.

I've fought the Smelter like 20 times, and then after getting tired of that I tried out the Old Iron King and got destroyed. I haven't tried him again because it's a long way there and I can't find any bonfire to shortcut. I'll try helping people out with the bosses for effigies, though.

You will get an extra bonfire after killing Smelter. You can find some NPC summons for both bosses. There is Lucatiel just before Smelter's arena and the crossbow dude (can't remember his name) before OIK.
You can farm effigies from dogs at Lost Bastille and Skeletons at Harvest Valley. When they start to despawn, join the Company of Champions to make them spawn ininitely. They will do 20% damage and have more HP, but they shouldn't be a problem at this stage. Just don't forget to leave the covenant after farming.

To beat smelter demon, use poison resin on a craftsman's hammer and beat the snot out of him. He's incredibly susceptible to poison. Just walk towards his left as he's swinging and hold up a shield. Whenever he pauses, take one to two swings at him. When he starts glowing with AoE flames, use a life crystal every now and then to counteract it.

With the Iron King, first off, before you exit the room with the flaming horses, if you go to the left there is a ladder that goes up, then another one. There's a bonfire right there. To beat the Iron King I reccomend equipping a fast-casting staff and Dark Fog (Hex sold by Straid). It slows him down while it's active and poisons him pretty easily. Focus on rolling for the Iron King, don't try and shield.

There is also a bonfire after the smelter demon, as well as a pig shield thing.

If you still can't beat him in a couple hours I might be able to help with one of my datas.

How on earth two stone and metal fire-breathing statues can be killed by poison?

Trust me I have no idea. I beat almost every boss in the game by spamming poison attacks. There are lists on the internet of bosses susceptible to poison.
