How many smelter wedges do u need for fume?
its my first time doing the DLC. Don't know how many i need to save for the boss.

You can destroy all the idols one the way down except one. If you don't leave one, you'll have to fight fumey with one active idol.

there's i think three extra smelter wedges in a chest somewhere, and one after you beat Sir Allone. So even if you run out you can fight him without any idols.

There is one wedge you can't get until after you beat fumey. If you don't leave one idol alive elsewhere, you cannot get enough wedges to kill the 4 idols around the arena until after the fight. Ask me how I know.

wow... I just got there. I started a low SM run solo, when in Rome.... Im there right now facing the Fume. lower idols are dead. SM under 100,000... is this your twinked out character there cheddar? I never upgraded any armour yet. level 39. dagger +10...

Whats your SM? looking for help, post it and they might come.

Never kill the first idol, run past it. Save your wedges for more important places and come back for the first idol after you kill Alonne.

seriously? I have fought him about 6 times now. I get sooo close and then "dark soul'd" lmao... I stoped asking for help ages ago, and as a player, I just show up unanounced for others that post "help wanted" signs. I sun bro to not use effigies.

You don't need to worry about saving Smelter Wedges if you explore everywhere before fighting the boss. If I'm not mistaken, there are 12 Smelter Wedges in total (6 at the beginning, 4 in a chest, 1 with Fume Knight and the last one in the memory of Sir Alonne). You'll be fine even if you use all of your Smelter Wedges before fighting Fume Knight. However, you'll have to choose a side to fight the Fume Knight, and don't pull him to the side of the healers, there will be 2 left.

ya on the twink note... I have never done it until now, there were some that i would have liked to have fought at a low SM and the RTD event made me give low SM runs a go.

I was in the belfry for the whole event. :) oh the things I saw...

ya smart.... he has a few moves and then the orb blast, you have to be behind, and or far back for that one, the orb blast.
