shadow dagger used to one shot pretty much anyone.
got nerfed and to riposte there is one rule, bigger=better aka ultra gretswords, or large clubs etc.
It is so easy to switch weapons after parry and then do riposte, practice that on normal mobs with your riposte weapon next to your equiped one

My build uses the flynn's ring so i am having problems with equiping a heavy weapon + my regular weapons

daggers often get a good riposte multiplier, but they have small AR. smaller riposte multiplier with higher AR wins out in this game, so bigger is better. The typical trick is to parry with your buckler or parrying dagger and then quickly menu swap to lost sinner, the warpick, or something like that.

Spears have really good riposte damage with lower weight and respectable AR, so you might try that.

Infused lost sinner's sword. Low weight, high dmg. If you played lots of fighting games in the past, menu swaps will be very easy for you.

Why You mentioned parrying with buckler or parrying dagger? Nothing will give You more swag and parrying with good old zwei. Not to mention that people will be scared to press r1 when opponent has buckler, that is not the case with zwei or murakumo :)

Nothing looks dumber than a PTS watcher who tries their hardest to land a parry after the totally-not-obvious 2hR1 (or running or rolling, they tr everything) bait

I love when people feel like they're gods when they land a lucky parry on me, then die to r1 spam. :^)

Best weight to ripost damage weapon? Best damage per weight weapon for ripost you mean? I say that should be your fist as that technically have no weight so its damage per weight is 1:1.

i meant weapon with the best ripost dmg to weight ratio. in case of bare fists that ratio is not defined

Lost sinner's sword. *sigh*

If you'd do a 40/30 instead of the weird 45/25 (Havel's Shield?) you could just menuswap to a FUGS or infused Lost Sinner's (the latter is obviously already possible, but kinda useless against GMB and witch-champs).
If you're too lazy to swap and use a weapon with better good crit (honestly I've a hard time imagining that for a Strength-build, unless you use Straight Swords), stick to the Shadow Dagger.

I can agree I may have f**ked up on the ratio, I think its more a 1:0 ratio. 1 part to 0 units (just don't convert this into 1/0 It doesn't really work and I think that is quite the wrong way to think about the problem in the first place). However. The fist is unbeatable in dmg / weight.

I am using 45/25 because all the weapons i mostly use scale better in str and don't have the requirement of more than 25. So str points give me more dmg
