Fullscreen brightness bug

in fullscreen game becomes insanely dark, regardless of brightness.
in fullscreen mode
in windowed mode
but on screenshots everything is ok.

as I told javhz if you have a video card find the color option in its control pannel tell it that you it to handle the color's not the game. its not the update its been that way sense windows 7. its a API hand shake issue

I had the same issue on my laptop, windowed fullscreenmode worked but fullscreen didn`t, so i checked the refresh rate of my monitor nd it was set to 75 hz. Because there were no setting for 1920x1080@60 i created a new profile via:

-> nvidia control panel -> change resolution -> adjust (under the list of available resolutions) -> create userspecific resolution -> hor:1920 vert:1080 refreshrate:60 -> test (no issues). Afterwards i enabled these profile, changed into the game and tried switch to fullscreen and see, it worked.

Well I got mine fixed from super darkness by switching to windowed. Your monitor will be bright'ish so right click desktop > display settings > Display > toggle Night light on or off and it should remove the brightness filter. After this your windowed DS2 should work as intended.

Okay I figured it out, go into the Nvidia control panel -> Adjust video color settings -> with the Nvidia settings -> Advanced -> Dynamic range -> Full 0-255

I had a similar issue and took Fred's advice, though his advice didn't exactly fix my issue but it did steer me in the right direction. I've got an Nvidia card so under the control panel Fred mentions under Adjust video color settings, what took away the white washed out screen was clicking "With the Nvidia settings" under "2. How do you make color adjustments?". It was originally selected as with the video player settings, but unchecking that returned the screen to its former glory.
