thanks. I'm actually running a jack of all spells character.
30/40 gives you access to a better chime, but no more scaling.
40/40 will obviously still increase damage.
You need 60 Int for all Affinity Orbs, 60 Faith for all Dark Dance Orbs. Resonant Weapons duration increases with Faith past the damage-softcap.
For all kinds of magic you want 50/50 because otherwise you're simply locking the most damaging casting tools.
TLDR, a pure caster aims at at least 50/50, better 60/60.
Attunement is completely up to you. Southern Ritual Band +2 gives 3 slots, so it's useful.
30 is some kind of softcap, you need a lot more investment for more slots afterwards. Instead of 40 you should definitely go 43, itll add an additional charge for a bunch of spells. You still gain slots, casting speed and spell charges for more Atn investment so... It's really up to you.
30/30 is a good lvl 150 hexer. You just have to invest some time in farming spice - and know which spells to ignore and which ones to spice down.
I've noticed that a lot of chime hexes take up 2 slots, so high attunement is kind of a must.
And why would you use resonant weapon? I thought it was a throwaway since it got nerfed
RW is a bit more damage, for bosses and high level PvP there's little reason to not use it if you can.
I was just mentioning all the things that make one correct answer impossible.
My weapons are the fire longsword and the witch staff.
Love this build.
