good weapon for fume knight?

was trying to do a raime cosplay. reached drangleic castle before going into the dlc, was using a grand lance but that's very heavy and very slow, almost impossible to get hits in with. was using a longsword to substitute, but it was un-reinforced, and i dunno if it's worth upgrading. 45 str, 22 dex. preferably low weight.

If OP has a str build, the estoc is probably the right thrusting sword.

The longsword will also do a great job on raime, and it's an all around great weapon.

upon inspection the craftsman's hammer has better damage and str scaling than the club, and at +5 is doing around 300 damage per strike on fume knight, which is what i'm using now

Also OP: don't go to the dlc without +5/+10 weapons. By drangleic you should not have trouble farming up the titanite. It you dont mind spoilers I'd happy to tell you where i get mine from

this is my third or so playthrough through the game, and i was using a grand lance+10 before raime which 1/2-hit all other enemies in the dlc. it's too slow and heavy to properly face fume, which is why i made this post

I think Grand lance is great against Raime, just wear light armour, Leo ring and hit once on every occasion, not more

Have you killed Fume before? If not, I'd recommend taking the time to upgrade whatever weapon you use. He is far more difficult than any of the other bosses in the game. I consider him the toughest boss in the entire DS trilogy.

beat him on a cleric build with a phantom beforehand, and helped him beat it, so technically twice i guess. otherwise no, haven't beat him solo. have gotten him down to around 20% before on this character, i just need to git the gud
