Is Sinh the Slumbering Dragon really that easy?
Or did I just get lucky? So, seeing Sinh for the first time I was excited thinking this was gonna be the DS2 version of DS1s Kalameet. They look similar, and Sinh even has a big ole spear looking thing sticking out of his shoulder, like he flew past the wrong tower at the wrong time with the wrong giant in it. Though admitedly he looks a lot worse for wear. But, I spanked him, solo... on my first try. It wasn't even a serious try, just expected to get a feel for his attacks before I made a serious effort. Almost all of his physical attacks missed me because I stayed close, he straight up spent a good amount of the fight rotating in circles because I was under him, his attacks don't even hit that hard, and he spends a ridiculous amount of time recovering after them so I healed to full and was able to get a few hits in before his next attack. And it was a short fight. I'm a decent souls player, but I'm not THAT good. So did I get lucky, or is he really that much of a pushover? I mean, I had more trouble with Elena, hell Vendrick gave me a rougher time, and that dudes so drunk he cant even find his way out of a basement. But yeah, getting back to the Kalameet comparison, that dragon gave me hell. I spent probably 7 or 8 hours fighting him collectively over a few playthroughs, and he killed me easily 100 times. Granted I was solo and going for a tail cut each time, but thats what I did here, solo and cut off Sinhs tail a few hits before killing it. I dunno, Im kinda dissapointed.

It took you 245 hours to get to Sinh, though. :steamhappy:
It really varies. The biggest danger is getting toxic and or breaking your weappon. Ancient dragon is more difficult because of the aoe, tail slam that can one shot players, and huge health pool.

I would agree with you. I don't want to say that I was underwhelmed because I do like the fight, but yeah it is a fairly easy one compared to the dlc bosses. A lot of it depends on how much he flies around and hits you with toxic.

Sinh is a LOT easier than Elana, IMO... you only need to focus on one target, and he's a lot more predictable on top of that. I also beat him on my first try, but I had my weapon break halfway through (didn't realize how much durability you lose when hitting him) and had to run around switching a weapon on the fly while dodging poison and fire everywhere, and it definitely messed me up for a bit.

Actually he is super hard. If you have 120 - 150 level he is dealing lots of damage and have great resistance unless using his weakness. But considering you have hight level...anything may be easy with that.

lol I knew someone was going to say that. I often leave my laptop running with the game on the start screen, so the actual playtime on that character (my only character) is 136 hours. I also, lol, leave my game running while I am in majula or sitting at a bonfire as I get up and do other stuff. Don't think I've left it like that running overnight - I know I did a few times for DS -, but between that and standing around waiting to be summoned, I've probably only got 60 -70 hours of legitimate playtime, and even a bunch of that is mindlessly farming for spices in Undead Crypt. Never really understood why people think anything of anyones playtime, considering how easily it can become inflated, or how much you can actually squeeze into a few hours of serious souls playing, not to mention experience in other souls games or the possibility they own it for a console and have made the switch to PC.

Is SL 183 considered high for Sinh?

Oh, there is nothing wrong in playing with as people say "too hight level".
Its just makes fight a bit easier.

So I decided to burn a bonfire ascetic to see what he can do and make it harder, and while I have a new found respect for what he CAN do ie spending a lot of time up in the air, there are still some glaring weaknesses to him that just make it a matter of just a little luck. Luck that he doesn't spam that attack where he flies towards you breathing fire, which seems to be unavoidable, and you don't run out of estus. Am I correct in assuming that attack cannot be avoided? I didn't try tanking it with a shield. I hate shields.

You just have to get out of his line of fire. It's a straight line. Just run to either side.

Tried that, always got me.

I started trying him around level 100 to 120. I haven't come close to beating him. I can beat the ancient dragon without taking a hit. I beat the fume knight solo at level 125 after about ten tries. Sinh just smokes me. He's so much faster than all the other dragons. I have a hard time getting around him.
