Whats the difference between small and normal white soapstone?
I dont really see the difference since they both just let people summon you.

Small is shorter duration than the bigger one.

What do you mean by duration? I'm new to DS2 (just came from ds1)

- Not to be confused with White Sign Soapstone. If you wish to receive covenant-related items from your coop, such as Token of Fidelity or Sunlight Medal, you will want to use that instead.

- Has a short duration of around 15-20 minutes but potentially could last a couple minutes.

- Each kill, by you or the host, shortens the duration.

- Killing a red soapstone summon will not decrease your summoning time. Killing a cracked orb invader will decrease your summoning time drastically.

- White Shades cannot use Estus if there is a red soapstone summon in the world.

- Can be used to be summoned regardless of if the boss of said area has been destroyed, though you will be sent back if the host goes through the boss fog-gate again. (it seems you can help with some bosses, but not others. I'm guessing it has to do with how many souls you get from a boss (likely, more than 7k = you get booted). For example, I can help with the Guardian Dragon, but I get booted on Velstadt, NG)

- Short before running out of time, your character will slowly get darker and lose his white glow. If this effect is visible to the host is unknown (at least for me) (Is visible to the host in most occasions if there is a strong connection) .

- The small white soapstone has a summoning range that goes further downwards that the white sign soapstone.

- If you have planted your sign and the "Your summon sign has disappeared" message appears, means you're going to be invaded by another player.

- It appears certain enemies count for drastically more than others; killing the first Archer in the Iron Keep (the one that shoots you in the back) nearly always causes the session to immediately end.

most important thing about it is that u can summon ppl with it even if u killed the area boss
unlike with the bigger soap stone

You can only play for about 5 min if you use the small soapstone. Using the big one gives you almost endless time in the hosts world.
Also, you can summon with the small soapstone even if the boss is dead or there is no boss (what you can't with the large one)
Also the small one has a little bit more soul memory range
Normal soap stones last till either a boss is killed (any zone boss will do) or you/the host dies. The reward for using a normal soap stone is 25% of the souls a boss normally drops (only exception is random encounter pursuers which award 17k), a free body form, and a token of fidelity which is a comsumable that allows you to heal the host (great for not getting booted cause the host is ♥♥♥♥ at the game)

Small soap stones last for a bit over 8 minutes or till you/the host dies, but each kill lessons this amount by some non linear amount (bosses end it instantly while mini bosses reduce the timer by more than regular mobs). The reward for small soap stones is a smooth and silky stone (a random item from the trade crows in things betwixt), and a free body form. You can tell how long you will last by your phantoms color, you become darker and darker as your timer runs out.

Keep in mind you and the host does significantly less damage for each person summoned. Cant find any numbers online but I think its something like 10-20% less damage per phantom.
