Ok, so now I actually managed to get hem close enough to the edge that he had one foot literally in the air, and still he just rotated and came after me. I thought that he would take at leas a nanostep forward and fall down (as seen in the videos).
What boss are you talking about? There is now pit in the dragon riders boss room, only the free fall by the platform.
Pit, abyss, chasm, precipice, "free fall", call it what you want, the part without floor.
Right when you enter the bossfight, take one step to the right so that you're in the corner. Let him do 6 steps towards you, then sprint like a madman to the right (his left) and past him. He'll attack and fall off.
That's how I do it and it's more consistent (for me) than the running or jumping method, but Mr. Youtube tutorial here knows better I guess.
Edit: Btw. this is the problem with alot of the souls community, they watch a video on something or read something on reddit and assume they know it all. I can only facepalm everytime.
OBS was not set to my recording settings unfortunately, so the quality isn't the best, but you should be able to see what's going on regardless. ;)
It's really useful to earn sexy 36000(+12000) souls right at the start of the game.
Well sorry to bust your bubble, but that's how I killed him most of the time during my 30+ playthroughs.
