Fastest way to Straits?
I was wondering if fighting the Sentinels with horrible stats or going through the wharf is faster. I want to make use of the Agape Ring to earn mySunlight Medals early.

Hiedes -> wharf -> Bastille -> straid

You don't have to beat Sentinels for Straid. The least SM-gaining method is to go through the Pursuer's boss arena. Also, you wouldn't have to fight through the Blightwwharf's gank-bang hordes of hollows, dogs and Darkstalkers.

Nope. You actually have to use the wharf entry because otherwise you won't be able to skip the sentinels. The gate near mcduff is locked and can only be opened from the wharf side

Oh, i remember it now. But if you have two Branches of Yore, you can skip the wharf by fighting through sentinels and then going to Undead Citizens' cells after Servant's Room bonfire.

Yeah but that way you've to kill more bosses and get more souls

you accumuate a ton of souls that way. just the sentinels is like 30k

Well, I ended up with 100k souls going the Sentinel route. I guess I'll just go farm medals at Iron Keep or the Scorpioness.
