Can't launch DS2-SotFS. PLEASE HELP!
When launching DS2, the steam "Preparing to Launch Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin" window pops up for just a second, and then disappears, and nothing happens. Not even a white scree, nothing.

I already tried all 10 solutions from this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/236430/discussions/0/558754259683457381/
And suggested steam restart, from here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/335300/discussions/0/611702631214410148/
I even installed DS2Fix64, but it didn't worked either.

The interesting part is - I installed DS2 about 4 months ago, and the first thing I did, was checking if it works (even though I already started playing DS3 at this point, and I knew I will wait with playing DS2, until I'll finish DS3), and it worked! There were no issues back then, so what changed? I didn't install anything that would influence the game on my part, so maybe one of steam updates? I don't know.

Do anyone have the same issue? Please help, I'm desperate, I already can't play Demon's Souls, or Bloodborne, as I don't own any console, so not being able to play DS2 too, is just horrible.

If Dark Souls series taught me anything, it's to never give up, but I'm running out of solutions here.

Does the game's process even starts? Try checking with Task Manager.

Have you tried running the EXE directly? I've heard this works when the game can't access Steam servers.

No, it doesn't. Mentioned Steam message appears for a second in applications tab, but there's nothing in processes tab.

When I try do open it directly from the .exe. the error appears, saying that application wasn't open correctly with a (0xc000007b) error code

Found some info after googling the error code... there's a lot of possible solutions, the easiest to try seems to be replacing a DLL file (see the 'Best Answer' in this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/43092-63-application-unable-start-correctly-0xc000007b )

And of course, I don't know if either of these works, so be careful and always backup files before deleting them. (Don't try reinstalling windows, that probably is going too far)

Thank You! Thank You so much! That really gave me a direction. I can now keep trying again. I'll let You know later, when I'll fix it.

FIXED!
If anyone else will have the same problem - I had to replace my xinput1_3.dll file in C:\Windows\System32\ with a newer one. The important part is to have a version of the file, that matches the application (in my case I had to search for xinput1_3.dll in 64-bit version)

Thank You Yal, Your comment was what sent me on this hunt for wrong .dll files

So you didn't update DirectX in a while...

you are a hero, been reading hundreds of unhelping posts saying the game wont open because my graphic card is not compatible with directx 11 (even though I played Gears 4 with that computer) but your trick solved the problem, I just copied the dll file from another PC and the game now started at the first try

Yes thank you I would of deleted the game and bury it in hidden games and never think about it again if it were not for your post.

about the xinput1_3.dll or xinput1_4.dll solution, neither of those are working for me, what should i do then ? (already tried over like 15 different solutions to get rid of this black infinite loading screen at the start of the game)
