What does SM [Number] mean?
I have seen people on here saying "Help me SM 25 million, etc" stuff like that, and I wonder what it means

Its the amount of souls you gathered. You can check it in corner of character's status

Soul Memory. It's what determine who you can connect with for most of the online activities. (except PvP arenas)

As above, it's the total number of souls you've gained on that character. This number only ever goes up, even if you spend/lose souls.

It was meant to be some dumb system to stop twinking, by making people get matched against higher players for progressing through the game, but they decided to back track on that when they introduced the agape ring.

Anyway, you can get an idea of who's in your range using this tool[darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com], but it can't tell you what levels people will be.

The ranges get slacker at higher numbers.
