In-game music doesn't play. No option in audio settings for "Use Included tracks."
The last time I played this game was many months ago, I came back to play some more but the custom music I downloaded months ago, THAT IS IN OGG AND PROPERLY LABELED, does not play. I turned the music volume to maximum and heard nothing.
I've deleted the sounds folder thinking it would revert to the default soundtrack but this didn't do anything. I've downloaded the custom soundtrack again thinking something just needed updating and still nothing plays. I've even tried uninstalling, deleting, reinstalling and verifying the files and it still doesn't work. The soundtrack I downloaded was the Dark Matter soundtrack advertised in General discussions. I'm at my wits end here.

You may have unticked "Use Included Tracks" in Settings/Audio (with Simple Settings disabled) when you were last messing with sounds.

No option in audio settings for "Use Included tracks."
First check that Simple Settings is unchecked.

If it's still not there, drag the volume slider on the menu bar to zero, then to its original value (this restarts the music player).

If there's still no music at this point, press F8 and see if there's an error message. If there is, please copy the message from infolog_full.txt in the game folder (you may have to close the game first) and paste it here, it should tell us what's going on.

That is a very weird interaction with the music player Histidine. The volume slider trick worked and everything is hunky dory now. Cheers to you both.
