Demo Update (Translation Replacement)

Hello from the team at The Yellow Room.

In this demo update, we’ve replaced the English and Japanese translations and made various improvements to graphics, animations, and sound elements.

Major Changes

1. Translation

Fully replaced the English and Japanese translations.

2. Background Graphics
Improved the overall quality of background assets.
The dining room has been redesigned to look more atmospheric and lively.

3. Character Animation
Characters now naturally turn to look at the player.
Improved animations for Bobby and Lost.

4. Sound
Footstep sounds now vary depending on the floor material.

5. Other Bug Fixes
Fixed incorrectly set colliders.
Fixed issue where interactions were possible through walls.
Fixed issue where Pokarak was visible during evidence observation.
Fixed issue where the greenhouse would not lock.
Fixed issue where a character’s glasses disappeared during the grilling entry sequence.

Future Plans

While we are currently focused on developing the full version of the game,
we plan to continue updating the demo whenever we identify improvements that also affect the demo experience.

We sincerely thank everyone who has played the demo,
and we will continue to refine the game based on your feedback to deliver an even more polished experience.

I love this so far but... a bug?

I'm in the first room where you make the connection between clues.... and it won't let me make the connection from the mug in the drawer at all. The red string just closes itself out as I move away from it. Really frustrating, especially when it worked fine from the drawer to the notebook....

Second major demo update

May 20, 2025

Hello from the team at The Yellow Room.
This demo update builds on the previous by including several additional elements and a number of improvements.

Major changes

1. Engine upgrade & background improvements

Upgraded to the Unity 6 Engine, improving overall performance and background lighting quality.
Improved a number of background assets.

2. Improved game save system
An icon now displays when the game autosaves.
Limit placed on the number of autosaves.

3. Improved tutorial
Movement instruction tutorial now displays as a separate section.

4. New background music for the banquet
All background music that played during the banquet has been replaced with original compositions.

Planned future updates

In order to improve the quality of both the English and Japanese versions of the game, we have recruited the help of a seasoned translation company to provide players with an official native translation.

We are planning to implement these new English and Japanese translations this coming summer (Q3 2025).

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where the mouse could not be used after returning to the main menu upon game completion.
Fixed bugs related to BGM playback.
Fixed various graphical glitches.

Improvements
Improved tutorial display and proper gamepad indicator support.
Enhanced and added some in-game cutscenes and effects.

+ We are aware that the current English and Japanese translations may feel awkward. We will do our best to find a skilled translator as soon as possible.

How spooky will this get?

I enjoyed playing the demo and it did a great job of creeping me out. I'm curious if there will be horror elements like jumpscares.
