The Old Retributionist, It was much more entertaining
The Old Retributionist, It was much more entertaining, you could revive a player, the ones that gave them a reason to stay playing (when they were dead), the current one I sincerely dislike, is "Necromancer of the Town" and I sincerely ask that they return to Putting the Old Retributionist Was Much More Entertaining. Please remove the Current and Put the Old Retributionist

Hmm, it was also kind of boring, now you can do something every night, you don't need to just be there and do nothing while evils attack you. The fact that you can use TI or TP that left makes it better, because you're not as helpless as medium when town leaves. Yeah, reviving players was good, but the rework makes retri more powerful and entertaining.

retrib had to get nerfed to disguiser level of bad so amne could get buffed.

I get that you may have preferred the old ret, but game balance is more important. It was just too overpowered. People may actually enjoy playing evils now. Sry, but it definitely isnt reverting back anytime soon

I understand that people like the current Retributionist, but what I miss is the reviving mechanism, it was unique, that's why I want to go back to the old Retributionist.

Well now there is no reason for a player to stay after dying. Especially if there is no Medium. Even if there is then staying for more then a single night to give the medium the results from night you died is pointless.

Not to add how ironic the "You may still help your team!" that pops up when you try to leave after dying. Yeah sure, if there was a medium or a guy who could bring me from the dead. Otherwise it's pointless to stay lmao.

I see that you agree, with me xD. I agree with your point of view. (Note: I am a Player who always stayed after I died because many times I was resurrected, although sometimes being a Jester who lost I stayed the same) the possibility of reviving gives you a reason to stay, and wait. So I love the old Retributionist. The possibility of reviving was for me at least very important

People won't enjoy evil roles with or without the old retri. It's just how most of mafia roles can be countered to the ground by decently competent town and how some are useless most of the damn time.

Only "fun" times Mafia had from what I saw was when town was full of morons that couldn't read the chat nor wills and were getting sheeped hard.

Not to add NK. These boys suck unless you are Dr. Manhattan levels of smart and / or have a town that's dumb like a boot.

Same with NE. All depends on how dumb town is.

It was a boring role let's be honest.
And was overpowered maybe in 3 medium games, 4 TS games or when maf tried to claim meds when there is no meds... Otherwise it was just the single reason for dead players to stay for more then a single night, if they even do now as chances of getting an actual medium seem to be low as ♥♥♥♥.
I liked the old one better, I'm not convinced by "oh town needs a nerf" arguments, and I really had the necromancer so anything that makes something in classic even resemble it I hate. So that's 3 things I hate about it. So PATATONXD 2.0, at least two of us can agree on something

However, most people loved it. When I saw how much support something similair to what is eventually going to be implemented a few weeks from now, I knew there was no point in voicing dissent since it was a done deal there was no way I was going to convince 7 people so passionate, much less a majority. So since this is a multiplayer game this is technically the "correct" choice the devs are making. The devs want to keep as many premium players as possible happy.

This is the fundamental but nessary flaw with multiplayer games. You can't exactly roll back a patch. The devs can't maintain 50 versions of the game on servers. And unlike a boardgame which gets updated, you can't just crack out that old version.

There is a good reason to stay with Med. A brain trust of dead losers who don't have to argue during the day and can just observe can give the med a serious advantage.

In theory, because I've never seen a med outtalk a dumbass town. It takes some serious yelling/charisma to manage that and if you roll Med you're mentally checked out of the game from d1.

Or a solid disadvantage if they leave or argue in dead chat.
Med has no way of confirming what the dead say unless he enacts it when someone from the dead gets lucky enough to find an evil guy or finds out someone's role doesn't check out with their claim.
Not to add how everyone lacks trust into medium claims.

A couple weeks ago I had what might be the shortest game of Town Of Salem ever. Go check it out in the screenshots tab. And search up “shortest”. There was only 1 evil role in the game.
