We received a ton of great feedback last time, and we’ve tackled the most critical issues you flagged (don’t worry—we’re working on the rest too! 🙂). We’ve also completely overhauled the Lumographs (the echoes from the past) with a new visual style and method for triggering them, and recorded new character voiceovers with a new script. This is a big shift in direction, and we’re excited to hear what you think!


The Project Lost Island Playtest will be life from April 7th - April 14th!

• Grabbing is smoother—holding the crank and valve is easier, and grab range has been adjusted.
  
• Better stability—we’ve fixed the two known crashes we were aware of, as well as improved performance overall.
  
• The monster no longer camps your locker forever
  
• Hands won't get stuck outside the locker anymore.
  
• No more unexpected levitation—small debris won't launch players into the air. Sorry no more flying through the hair holding on to a wooden plank 🧹

It’s been a while since our last update (almost a year 😯), and we owe you a huge thanks for your patience. We've been hard at work with massive changes to the game on pretty much all levels. We have grown the team, changed the whole graphics pipeline to address performance issues, and -- last but not least -- completely overhauled the concept of the game as a whole.

Needless to say, your feedback has been pivotal for us to be able to take many of these steps and decisions. So we would like to once again thank you for the time you dedicated to playtesting and submitting your feedback!


So what has changed? Well, simply put, everything! There is just a lot more game now. From puzzles, more story, and immersive interactions to a darker and richer story, the island has transformed into something far more sinister.

Plus, there’s a new twist: A relentless monster is now hunting you. You’ll need every bit of stealth to survive. Duck behind cover, move cautiously, or hide beneath tables to escape its gaze!

With that being said, light & shadow still play a core part of the game and are guaranteed to immerse you in this dark, but beautiful world.


From this point on you can expect regular updates on the status of Project Lost Island! PCVR is a niche community that we believe has been underserved and needs more great games. We have ambitious goals for Project Lost Island and can only hope to achieve to them with your valuable feedback. We read and carefully consider every piece of feedback we get, it's this same input that lead to massive changes in our game over the past year. Now we need your help to take it to the finish line.

We're still in pretty early development but we want to get our players involved as soon as possible. We're launching a closed playtest of a vertical slice we have prepared with our Discord members from March 4th to March 10th. If you'd like to join make sure to join our Discord[discord.gg] and follow the instructions listed there. After we digest the feedback from this playtest we'll begin opening up future playtests to more and more people as we add in new content and react to feedback!
