This data would help a lot of people (like me) to properly decide for a civ and give them the feeling they understand how this game works for real. Right now C3 is a fun, but also a highly intransparent sandbox RTS game set in early modernity for players unfamiliar with the game's deeper mechanics.
I'll give you a personal example: I had no clue how to advance to 18th century. I eventually found out reading too many articles on he C3 wiki (at least that was possible), because nobody cared to provide this key information in an obvious manner. So I made this[cossacks3.gamepedia.com] unsexy building tree in a glimpse so that other people don't have to click through as much articles as I had to.
Compared to other big strategy games which provide detailed information about the content in their games (i.e. EU4[www.eu4wiki.com], Civ[civilization.wikia.com], AoE[ageofempires.wikia.com]) Cossacks has always been unnecessarily hard to access from a theoretical point of view. This is such a pity! It would be easy to fix this for Cossacks 3 if someone actually cared about that ^^
Oh, too long for my eyes, but thank you :-)
I wil try answer to all your questions.

I am not developer :(
I am just a Moderator for Czech community and also i do the some translation from English into Czech for this game. Of course I am huge FAN of Cossacks series :-) Especially of Cossacks: Back to War is my favorite game for many many years.
In game editor provide all information so there is no problem to test and see the differences between the nations.
Ah, instead of reading tons of useless articles, you should just start game editor build 1 town hall and check the upgrade XVIII - progress to 18th century and also there is what buildings are required. It's matter of 2 minutes. Even if you build every buildings it should not took longer then 5 minutes...
I see. I knew that next to the obvious hosting the actual making of Gamepedias is curated by Curse Inc. which usually occurs with the product owners. That's why I thought it'd be official. :)
You know, that's the point. I'd prefer to read one very useful article with all info of interest spot-on over either reading 'tons of useless articles' or wasting my time in the editor. A good game documentation will always be faster and deliver more and compact information than every tedious series of editor experiments.
I'm sorry to say that, but I think your view on this looks very old-fashioned to me. You're basically suggesting me a workaround due to the lack of a proper official solution, which would be game documentation. I mean it with all due respect, but a scenario editor can never live up to the advantages of actual game documentation. The primary purpose of scenario editors is to create scenarios and that's what they are (ideally) optimized for. There are no charts, diagram trees for units, techs, buildings and whole civ, background information or countertables. I really don't understand the devs here as game documentation isn't even new or super hard to do. Already Age of Empires 2 featured in-game techtrees for each of its civ. Cossacks has nothing like that.
Obviously some devs just don't want their games to be understood.
There are many fans of Cossacks who have full-time jobs and can't play it all day long to grasp every inch of the game's mechanics (plus there are many newbies), but would still like to get better and play online with some success. But they can't do that if they never get there. It's hard for noobs to become decent players in Cossacks.
I'm a professional game designer myself, worked on various RTS projects over the last decade and would consider myself an experienced RTS player. And I tell you: I don't know any other famous RTS that is as intransparent about its own game content and mechanics as Cossacks. And it's a real pity! I really adore the game for its audiovisual style and specific historical setting and I'm sure I'd love it if the game was more accessible.
I appreciate your spreadsheets, but they still consume too much time for one to figure out what technical advantages and deficits all civs have. It's because your sheets are sorted by unit type and not by civ. If I wanted to compare civs the layout of your sheets would make that as tedious. Your sheets are basically a database from which documentation could be generated. Here, look at this: http://ageofempires.wikia.com/wiki/Civilizations_(Age_of_Empires_II)
That's what I call good game documentation. Something like this for Cossacks 3 would be kickass.
I prefer testing in editor for me it's faster and more enjoyable then reading:-)
Actually it can if you know how, thanks to the editor I became one of the best player :D
Well, developers are focusing on more critical problems now, fixing bugs, creating new content, testing, workshop etc. than creating manual or encyclopedia, but maybe later they will...
I understand your problem and problem of new players, manual is missing and also encyclopedia and a lot of important things are not known to the players. That's why I created my own encyclopedia for everybody. There is not everything I know, but I was focusing on the most important things. Some tips and tricks I will add later.
Too much time ?
You can check this out: (sorted by nations)
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=769296419
This is for me totally useless, because I can't compare units etc. And that's the reason why I did my encyclopedia. It's much better and easier when it is sorted by units and also it is clearer.
You don't need to have each nation separately: almost all nations have the same units and upgrades etc.
Exceptions are only for unique units and upgrades price for them etc.
I show you something:
If you used editor it takes 5 second and not mention that, that the town hall is the first build you build in the game and you could notice that there is upgrade for 18th century...

Editor is like an encyclopedia and thats the reason why, but people just don't use it and that's thier problem/ mistake...
Even with manual and encyclopedia for Cossacks 3 there could not be everything. Because C3 is so vast that it would be over 300 pages :-) Take example from manual and encyclopedia for Cossacks: Back to War there is also not everything.
