No. I read it, dump it off in my equipment cache, then come back to it periodically. Easy peasy and great little book to get whenever you can for stat increases and resistances. I read it today and it gave me over 32K experience. Always fun.

I should caveat this for anyone else reading that the Tome of Donors works best when blessed, and will NOT work for C -aligned characters, to my knowledge. It can be used as Ratling fodder or sacrificed as an artifact for a lot of piety. Even if you are too late and get the ruined Libram, you can use it with a potion of exchange to try to get another spell book.

What is the effect of ToD with blessed status?

If the tome is blessed, the single attribute increasing effects give 2-4 points instead of 1. If memory serves, these nine effects have about a combined 20% chance to occur on any given read.
