Early game healing strategies?
Anybody got any? Story mode. I am having trouble healing, although I do employ the wait option.

I also use the heal skill, but often my wounds are not bad enough (and it doesn't actually recover HP as far as I know).

Thanks in advance,

One thing that helps me a lot is using the First Aid skill. You can use it right after you take damage, and if you pass the skill check, you'll regain a couple HP. The higher your skill level, the more effective it is. It's especially useful for surviving poison and stopping bleeding.

The Healing skill is a passive one that just increases your rate of naturally regenerating HP. It's really good to have. You can also take the talent Healthy to increase your natural HP regen even more.

Good to know. Thank you.

If your character does not start with the Healing skill, one of the first things you should do in the game is get it. The following is pieced together from several FAQs:

PCs who do not start with the Healing skill or the Candle starsign will be essentially obliged to pursue the Save Yrrigs/Kill Jharod quest line.

Save Yrrigs is a quest given by Rynt in Terinyo. You must talk to him first, BEFORE talking to Guth'Alaks, or the quest will become unavailable.

After receiving the quest, the player must go to the Village Dungeon, south-east of Terinyo. There, he must find and either save or kill Yrrigs, who has been corrupted by the powers of chaos and has gone insane.

If you save him by returning him to the healer on level 4 of the Village Dungeon, he grants you the Healing skill.

Wow great advice. Thankyou.

Likewise, you can get Healer talent (+20% healing speed) and you can train your skills through practice. It means that if you use First Aid (successfully, when +N HP or stopping Bleeding) a lot the skill score will be improved naturally (without level up). The same for Healing (this skill is passive) - you can drop your HP and stroll.
Eventually, if critical circumstances arise don't forget to use other ways to survive - healing potions, pray and so on.

There are several NPC in the village. The druid and the village elder quests can't be done both in the same game. The one you talk first gives you his quest.
So if you talk with the druid first no healing via quest. It can still be obtained through potions/scrolls of education, except chqaracters don't have these in huge quantities early enough.

There are at least four NPC who can give you a quest (the Sheriff (Tywat Pare), the village elder (Rynt), the druid (Guth'Alak) and the tiny girl. If your level is less then 6 you will get a quest from the sheriff. If you are not too late (after a few weeks it's late) you will get a quest from the tiny girl. And the others give you one more quest (one excludes the other). If you need healing talk to the village elder first (inside a house near the center of the village))
