I just got a message that said You sense a foreboding of doom. As though something's going to kill you! I'm guessing that means a really out of depth monster was created or it means that a random monster is really powerful im guessing. Any tips?

Ok now it says You feel the urge too run away from here... as fast as you can! If this is Thomas Biskups idea of a practical joke to kill level one players in the Small cave by spawning a greater moloch from the folds of the universe. Poor Eijicun the ratling barbarian will not be pleased too be used as a guinea pig!

Ok yep just got killed by a dark sage at level 4 does anybody know if those messages were trying to warn me against the dark sage or if it was just a coincidence?

Oh just noticed a message that says You have lost all hope of getting out here alive! when I entered the room with the dark sage

You're in the Small Cave, right? This level is special, it gets more dangerous the higher your character level is. Whereas each other map gets a little bit easier each time you level up, the Small Cave actually gets harder. And each time you level up, you get a warning message, indicating that you probably shouldn't stay on that level.

Yeah thats what I thought I guess I just didn't listen to the newfangled don't get your stupid arse killed warnings.

Well its cool they introuduced those and its very like me to ignore those messages completly!

Don't worry, it's part of the regular learning process for this game. ;) ADOM doesn't have that cozy little starter area with easy fetch quests that we've grown accustomed to. It sends you into lethal danger right away. It feels like quite an achievement once you've found your way around and mastered the early challenges, though. :)

Regarding the small cave, be aware that it's entirely optional. It harbors a useful item (which can also be found elsewhere in random loot), and it leads to a location that is important for special endings, but for a "normal" victory you don't need to go there at all. So feel free to visit if you're curious, but don't be afraid if it gets too rough either. :)

Yeah i have played for a year and knew the risks hell I would have left but i say the message and couldn't resist the temptation of seeing what would happen!
