Linux version somehow broken

On Linux (Arch linux and Ubuntu 20.04) the text is partly unreadable. It is printed grey on grey and you can only barely read it. The game is only well playable in ASCII mode

Anyone got a hint how to solve this ?

I have the same problem with Linux Mint. That said, I was able to get around this issue by having the game run using the Proton compatibility layer. This lead me to a new issue. Now, once I have played the game and exit, the game fails to start thereafter. I can uninstall and reinstall to get the game to work again, but once I create a character and exit, I can't start the game again. It seems the save game is corrupt, or I am dealing with a permissions issue of some kind, but I can't figure out how to fix it.

Just bought the game, same here.

Linux 5.10.30-1-MANJARO x86_64

This really needs to be patched. A better option than proton is to download the free version off AUR or the offical site where it for some reason works.

Unless you really want to play with the extra options..

I tried to understand the working solution, but in fact have no idea to actually implement it, it seems like not a trivial one. I have accepted that the steam version is just broken for now until further notice
