Can't play campaign, only Venice add-on?

I recently bought Anno 1404 during the sale, and with it came the Venice DLC. I downloaded it, started it, but it only brings up the Venice DLC which does not offer a campaign. I've looked through other threads, and saw that I should browse local files, and run just Anno1404.exe and NOT Anno141Addon.exe. I did this, and it still brought me to the Venice DLC?

Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something here? I've always wanted to play this game and now I have a computer to play it on and it's not working for me.

There should be two games in your steam library, "anno 1404" and the standalone "anno 1404 Venice". Have you installed both of them? I think that was a solution for some people. One of the two should open the base game with the campaign.

1404 has the campaign, Venice does not, when you start the game it should give yo the choice.

Found a thread with the answer - had to launch it through Steam, not clicking the icon on my desktop, nor going through local files. When I click PLAY on the game in my Steam library, it gives me the option of choosing the base game or Venice. Thanks for the replies!
