PS4 Save Data Issue - Please Advise
I'm on PS4 and after several crashes today I went to back up my save data. However, I noticed that I have 5 different "save data" files now and they are just minutes apart. This keeps happening more and more as the game crashes. My save data on PS4 is now over 2 GB and I only have 4 active worlds saved in my game. Which of these save data files can I safely delete without losing my overall game progress? Thanks

EDIT: The biggest reason I want to know what is safe to delete is because when the game crashes and creates these extra save files, the load times increase by 300+% and when I go to any new world (it will take 5-6 minutes per world) and check the map it will say "scanning the galaxy" for nearly 5 minutes.

I would back up the files so you don't delete anything just in case. This is what I have found to work:

Delete only the files that say "Save Data". Do not delete the world files since the ones that stay there in you storage I believe store some of the discoveries. Do not delete "Save Data 1". That is the reference of your progress regarding your character, not your position. Again, back up you storage in case it doesn't work for you, but it has worked for me.

Devs please fix this game. Look at my post in detail to find out what is causing this game to crash.

I deleted the ones that say "save data" other than the most recent and that seems to work and load times are cut by 2/3 or so. Why after crashes are there multiple save data files that update and are always a few minutes behind? I think those are created when one "corrupts" which happens basically every crash since the game is constantly saving. Either way I don't know if the developers have any clue how badly it hinders performance when you have a dozen extra "save data" files. I've totaled over 100 crashes now on PS4.

What is supposed to happen is the corrupt data is supposed to be recovered in the new file after the crash and the old file is supposed to delete itself (which it doesn't). I would go even further to say it shouldn't keep crashing.

It seems though that when the game has all of these extra "saved data" files that it causes it to be more unstable and crash more too. I've had 75 crashes or more on this file. I started a new file and had just one crash in 3 days, but after I had one I had another 5 or 6 in the next day. That's when I realized that one crash adds extra "saved data" files. Deleting those helps load times and game stability although it is still prone to crash way more than your typical game.

I 100% agree. I crash daily when I play this game and it becomes rather tedious. In total I have experienced too many crashes to remember. It hasn't been 100 times, but it has been going on since release date. Are you also crashing during the ship world map? I experience it when I delete a world 50% of the time. I haven't picked the game back up until I get an update and know 100% I won't be seeing any errors.

Also I recommend submitting a ticket here http://support.wbgames.com/ics/support/splash.asp

I have already done it and explained what the issue is.

I've had easily 30 crashes after deleting a world(s). I'd say my success rate of deleting a world and crashing within a minute is about 50% as well.
