You misread my post. I complimented LEGO Worlds for its diversified set of bricks. In comparison Minecraft is inferior, and this is why LEGO Worlds has the potential to outshine Minecraft. My criticism is directed at the third person building mechanics.
People need to stop trying to fit these two games in a box to compare.
You are looking for a secret hidden agenda where there is none.
Yeah, I suspect too that the designers are constrained by LEGO management.
Well, a very reasonable guess is that the game is made to promote the purchase of LEGO sets and in particular sets with patented minifigures.
I think it shoudl be obvious too, think to games like magic, what if ppl just buy the virtual version and drop the RL thing? It would result in a huge loss of money for them since with virtual versions you can:
save hundresds and hundreds of money
no need of space
no worry about to loss a piece.
Do multiple constructions with the same number of pieces and potentialy have all of them saved.
etcetc.
That was another cause yes, but not the only one, i invite you to put an eye on this link, very explaining:

(And I'm a recent convert to TTGames, I actually didn't care for the original Lego Star Wars games all the way up to 3, found them kind of dull. I actually didn't come back onboard until The Lego Movie Game and the Lego Batman 3. I feel one can see elements of what is planned for the open world nature of this game, by little things in Lego Batman 3 and Lego City Undercover.)
Yeah, I'm hoping they hear our complaints, loud and clear, and give us the option of first person building mechanics
