Question: How's the combat?
Hello everyone reading this.
So I am definitely interested in this game, and while it alone isn't a deal breaker,
I am wondering what the combat is like, and how in depth it is.
Like when using a ranged weapon, do you aim or does it simply auto targets?
I am also wondering how fluid the melee weapons are.

So far it seems like punching skeletons, zombies and evil wizards so far.

ATM it's horrible, mostly due to the worst camera I've seen in awhile. Makes it harder to target and aim than it should be. Otherwise it's a good beatemup. Not really any depth to it since it's just swing or fire away, but fairly fluid. Feels better than minecraft and planet explorers combat to me anyways (unless they patched up PE finally). Granted I find minecrafts combat to be horrible so that's not a huge jump up.

Can auto target (although choosing that target is another matter, the game does it not you), or just fire at your cursor.

I havn't played with the combat but a short time but from what I can tell is that hand to hand melee combat seems rather fun vs skeletons, wizards, etc. Havn't tested melee weapons. Ranged weapons are very off at the moment. There is no reticle or aiming sytem. Its hold your right mouse button and fire wildly hoping you hit them.

So far there are very few things to need to fight, unless you want to beat up the nice minifigs too. The only depth so far I have seen is just in the weapons you can find (the bazooka impacts are nice :D ) warlock minifig can shoot fireballs and blow holes into the envroment/structures, and yes you can point and click what to shoot at whatever and melee is good enough to run up and slug them with your fists or melee weapons. Some mounts can also attack while your on them.

Camera control is pretty awkward and difficult indeed.

I actually agree this statement completely. The camera angles are terrible at this time. HOping as this game progresses through early access that changes.

Thanks for the responses!
Yeah it sounds like it's going to need some work, I look forward to seeing it improve.
(I suppose there aren't really many enemies at the moment anyways.)

Actually there's a decent amount of enemies for an early access title. However there's no challlenge whatsoever atm. Only time I've died is when I accidently jumped into lava.

Figure that will come with time.

LOL Geesh, how to answer that.

Combat mechanics are very very basic. Punching, 4 hearts, loose some cash if you die, reserrect right away.

BUT!! Things to consider, NPCs attack each other. I watched a caveman kill a skeleton, and a skeleton attacked my horse while I was off it attacking another skeleton.
I found a gun that shoots, and I baught the skin of the warlock I killed and now can cast fireballs for distructive damage. They have incredible range as I shot one out over the ocean and it went quite a way before it burst out.

So now, eeh, about on par with Normal mode in Minecraft if people are honest. Spam sword = kill creeper. But I see serious potential for a survival mode.

BTW: Warlocks are hostile, and kings are not. I walked up to the warlock and he stared at me and walked away. I had to fight him to get his skin. The King, I walked up and he waved and I instantly got his skin... so I didn't kill him

Wizard skin can shoot fireball

Outside of what others have said, there's a pretty sweet double jump ground slam attack you can do, but overall it's definitely very basic.

Can you spawn NPC's? I'd love to create some castle seiges or historical scenarios!

Combat is literally exactly the same as every other TTGames lego game, even the targetting is the same as Batarang targetting.

As for spawning you can either drag and drop from your characters collection or if you want larger spawns all at once you can use this:

Professor Prescott's Miraculous Spawners

Let me know personally if you need larger spawners. Currently the downloadable ones spawn 4 at a time and you can place about 12. However I can make more spawns per spawner, but it will reduce the number that will function at a time.

Lots and lots of punching... i think the game isnt centered on combat but more on exploring and building :) hope i could help!
