Can auto target (although choosing that target is another matter, the game does it not you), or just fire at your cursor.
Camera control is pretty awkward and difficult indeed.
I actually agree this statement completely. The camera angles are terrible at this time. HOping as this game progresses through early access that changes.
Yeah it sounds like it's going to need some work, I look forward to seeing it improve.
(I suppose there aren't really many enemies at the moment anyways.)
Figure that will come with time.
Combat mechanics are very very basic. Punching, 4 hearts, loose some cash if you die, reserrect right away.
BUT!! Things to consider, NPCs attack each other. I watched a caveman kill a skeleton, and a skeleton attacked my horse while I was off it attacking another skeleton.
I found a gun that shoots, and I baught the skin of the warlock I killed and now can cast fireballs for distructive damage. They have incredible range as I shot one out over the ocean and it went quite a way before it burst out.
So now, eeh, about on par with Normal mode in Minecraft if people are honest. Spam sword = kill creeper. But I see serious potential for a survival mode.
BTW: Warlocks are hostile, and kings are not. I walked up to the warlock and he stared at me and walked away. I had to fight him to get his skin. The King, I walked up and he waved and I instantly got his skin... so I didn't kill him
As for spawning you can either drag and drop from your characters collection or if you want larger spawns all at once you can use this:
Professor Prescott's Miraculous Spawners

Let me know personally if you need larger spawners. Currently the downloadable ones spawn 4 at a time and you can place about 12. However I can make more spawns per spawner, but it will reduce the number that will function at a time.
