Mega lag with all settings low
Hi,
I've got an Nvidia Geforce GTX 660m 2GB, running 12GB RAM and a 2.4 ghz i7 processor yet I have to run this game on absolute minimum graphics (not even 1080 x 1920 resolution) to prevent it from pausing to tell me the game is failing.
Even with a lower resolution I'm only getting about 10 fps.

How can I up the graphics and most importantly, the fps?

Thanks

Any ideas? My Nvidia drivers are up to date.

Check the pcconfig.txt file. Maybe mess with the shadows, texture, AA, SSAO, etc...

Thanks, I've changed a couple and am going to test it out, but I'd rather be able to play the game on better graphics and fps as my laptop is over the recommended specs

It's OK now, I've got a decent FPS having nuked the game. I'm literally playing with the entire config file set to 0.
If anybody knows a way to optimize the FPS with better graphics for my specs I'd really appreciate it.

Now, to figure out how to unlock more character pieces... hmm...

I had the same problem I reinstalled it and now it runs perfect... Try it I hope it works!

Main question to the person with the issues, how old are your video drivers, that does make a huge difference in many games keeping those up to date, for example I had Aprils drivers when the Witcher 3 came out, everything on high with hair physics off was getting 40ish FPS, with hair on 24ish FPS, did nothing but update my drivers to the ones that came out that same day and on ultra (so better settings) with hair off getting 80-90FPS and with hair physics on 48-52FPS, so basically doubled my frame rate with better graphics settings by mearly updating my video drivers (which I had literitly downloaded the newest drivers the day before Witcher 3 came out and then the newest drivers the day it came out and it made that much difference).

whats your other computer specs

im running a 560ti on max with only small problems
Cable Jun 1, 2015 @ 10:53pm
Which specs are you talking about?
It's:

i7 Quad Core 3630 QM 2.4ghz 6mb
12 GB Samsung 1600mhz DDR3 Memory
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660m 2gb DDR5

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Installing it onto my SSD now, that should make a difference but not sure how much of a difference.

Reinstalling onto my SDD gave another 5 or 6 frames, so I'm running at about 15-17 which is playable, but I've literally turned every graphic effect off in the app data file to do this.

Ah didn't see that second post... used to people just editing in information like that into their OP rather then adding a second post.

In that case all I can say is in alpha/beta games are generally not optimized so until much much closer to release you may be getting tit's for frame rate, it's not only not uncommon, but it's pretty standard for optimization to be one of the very last things you do to a game before release, I wouldn't really suggest playing un optimized games on a laptop unless your wanting to cook the insides of it, even "gaming laptops" are terrible with heat issues for many games that are finished.

But other then "wait and see closer to release" not much to say for trying to play a unfinished game on a laptop, desktops you can at least over power any non optimization issues without much heat issues, laptops over heat and shut down if you try that because of piss poor ventilation in my personal experience, but then again I haven't gamed on a laptop since the mid 2000's because laptops are not really designed for that even "gaming" ones.

My laptop's quite fine for playing games, it's plenty ventilated and doesn't overheat.
There have been issues with mobile GPU's before (GTA V for example would not launch on mobile GPU's at launch, but was soon hotfixed), so I would understand if it's an issue directly effecting GPU's but would also have faith that it would be fixed within good time.

Any ideas?

I've a laptop too with a 675mx. Had ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fps but what it worked for me the best was going to dirextx 9, adn going down all the options to low/middle except shadows, because they start to flash ramdomly on blocks.
I've managed solid 50fps, which is enjoyable. I don't need fancy glowing on the blocks (they're blocks, come on), just fluid gaming.

I didn't mange to fix this but was able to get a refund through steam's new refund policy. I'll wait for the game to go to release and it should be optimized by then =)
