What the hell... they will HAVE add it eventually. Oh the joys of early access.

And yea, it is installing now.
I think you might have misunderstood my, "what the hell.."
It wasn't a question, as in "No maps or compass? WTH?!"
It was a... gawd, EA games are always a risk... but from what I see and read, $14.99 is ok... what the hell...>click<
Yea, that works great initially. I use it in Minecraft...
But if you are not headed Exactly due east or west then problems start cropping up. And when you start getting literally thousands of square game kilometers explored then it becomes futile without some sort of either available coordinates, maps, or compass.
But it is a good tip if you only explore so far...
Just for fun one day I loaded my world into MCEdit and looked at it with a top down, night time view. Man, the torch lines going off everywhere in every direction was really neat.
Easy enough. You can stack blocks on top of each other to make a path too. Every 20 to 30 blocks (based on line-of-sight view range, could be much MUCH farther apart), stop, make a quick, recognizable structure, and then walk on.
Yea, I do that a lot in the Nether. It works.
Suppose the Bread Crumb Trail will have to do for now.
In the Nether, I have cobblestone paths everywhere. I just hate ghasts making my return trip to my portal impractical!
Yea, got a few paths as well. I hate having to build them as I am exploring, but there isn't much choice. Now and then a pile of bricks will work, but sometimes it is to dark and obscured...
Which is why I promote adding a map or compass or even both. Then I can run and explore and worry about it later.
Hmm...
LEGO could have a Nether too......
