"No violence" option for young children?
My son is 2. He loves playing exploration games and Lego Worlds in particular, because it looks like his Duplos from real life. He can walk, swim, climb, maneuver all vehicles, dig tunnels, mow the lawn, knock down bricks, etc.

Recently he learned to punch NPCs in the game which is unfortunate because at such a young age it's not appropriate to play games with hitting, violence, etc.

I would be thrilled if you could add a setting to disable all violent actions against living things, as well as remove guns and swords. Pacifist mode maybe?

Fighting NPC's is a game mechanic. So I doubt it will be going away to be honest. (Even optional) If you don't fight certain characters you can't collect and then buy them.
Also it's an action game and exploration game. It will become more of a part of the game most likely.

That's probably why they made it so innocent looking. No wounds, bruises, blood, they just disassemble and then reappear somewhere else. So to be honest I wouldn't expect this to happen.

Ehm 2 might be a little young for video games all together... Why don't you have him play with his DUPLO bricks instead?

And learning to beat stuff and other people will come to him one way or another anyway. It's up to you as a parent to teach him the difference between "simulated violence" and the consequences of real violence.

Or just don't let him play it, until he is older.
I wouldn't call it inappropriate. It's something that's part of the game. Besides, maybe a two-year-old shouldn't be playing games this complex in the first place.
I've played games with 2 year olds. I give them unplugged controllers and they don't seem to notice the difference.

This is not a game for toddlers.:steammocking:

I think most toddlers would think running around in a colorful lego world on the back of an ostrich is the best. And it's not like it's very violent or anything. As long as he doesn't let his kid play hours and hours on end I don't see how it would have a negative impact.

If you are looking for a LEGO game about building stuff in a peaceful manner, I might suggest LEGO Creator (which is quite old, and not on Steam). I don't know what it's compatability is like with modern operating systems, and the most "violent" feature in it is the dynamite piece launcher, but if you can find a copy for cheap, see if it's what you're looking for.

"Duplo Mode" in which the game nixes combat and instead goes only for building an exploration is not only a viable option, but I good idea for anyone not interested in punching the snot out of hundreds of annoying skeletons.
I have a two year old boy as well.... Guess what; He's not playing a video game at two. He's playing with actual toys, or I'll play them with him, we hang out, we go to parks, we read books, I teach him about the world... Because he's two. When I do play video games cause daddy needs a break and if he wants to watch; that's fine. (of course I play less violent games when he's around than my typical 9 pm + games/after bed time) But he's not playing them himself for at least another two years. 4 years old is a decent age to get into basic video games, and even then go to a tech store and buy a snes. Throw in a mario cartridge or pac man and call it a day. Even then he'll be limited so he'll still play with his toys and won't grow up to be a social shut in.

Really? This game minus the violence is too much but Pacman is fine?
This game can be very educational. This is a great tool for kids to develop spacial awareness.

And maybe OP only lets him play unsupervised or short periods of times.

And face it mate. This game NEEDS Hostile NPCs in order for the game to be fun and Interesting for the players I play games that have Violence. If you want a game with no violence buy a Walking simulator game.
