Announcement: Update 4 Live!
UPDATE: Some users are experiencing an issue where the game won't save your discoveries. It seems as though the Save folder is setting itself to read only. To correct this, go to your Appdata folder (C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment), and right click on the LEGO Worlds folder. You will then need to uncheck the box that says read only. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ho ho ho!

The final update for 2015 is now live!

As we’re going to allow the team the chance to sleep over the winter break, we’re not likely to have a patch available straight away for any issues we see people encounter. So with that in mind, we have decided to place the Update build onto a Beta Branch within Steam so that you can revert back to Update 3 if you need/want to. Here are the steps to do this:

1. Right Click on LEGO® Worlds within the Steam Library and select Properties.
2. Click on the Betas tab
3. Select the ‘Beta’ option from the drop down menu
4. Go to Local Files and click ‘Verify Integrity of Game Cache’

As mentioned in our teaser announcement, the major new feature is Split-Screen Co-Op! It works like this…

First, the short version: To have 2 Players on a Single PC, Press F2 to drop player 2 in and out. You must have at least one controller connected.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=577451828

Now, the long version: If you have a controller connected, press F2 on the keyboard to drop player 2 in on the inactive control system – this means that if you’ve been using the controller, player 2 will drop in on mouse & keyboard, and vice versa. If you have an additional controller, F2 or START on that controller will drop player 2 using it, leaving player 1 as they were. F2 will always drop player 2 out.

It’s 2 players only, and you can’t have both players on the keyboard, or one on keyboard and one on mouse – yet! Also, if you find that the game is slowing down for you a lot in Co-Op, there are a few things you can do to help resolve this. The first is to try and lower the games Quality settings in the Video Options and Effects Options of the Setting Menu. Another useful fix is to switch to Windowed Mode (if the PC doesn’t have to draw as big a window, then it doesn’t have to work too hard, so the Frame Rate picks up!)

There are a few new props to find in some of the biomes, and who left explosive crates lying around? You know we can’t be trusted with that stuff! Make some noise, and wake up the world next door!

Next up, Brick Building has seen some improvements too. While a wider-ranging upgrade to the interface is still in development, the basic building controls have been improved. On mouse & keyboard, when deleting bricks you no longer need to select a brick to go back to placing – just tap the left button to return to your previous brick. On controller you no longer manually swap modes with [Y] – instead, just tap [X] to start deleting, chip away at the landscape without having to manhandle the crosshair into a brick, then tap [A] to go back to placing.

Still in Brick Building, we’ve also expanded the brick palette for those Master Builders out there. I lost count of how many so here’s a picture instead:

As usual there are a few new characters, creatures, vehicles and items to discover. In particular, try to find the awesome new weapon – it’s the perfect complement to split-screen and will bring even more colour to your worlds. Who will find it first?

Oh yes, items – if you’re playing on mouse & keyboard there is a Put Away button, or if you’re playing on a controller, you can now put your item away by tapping Down on the d-pad, get it back out with Up, and quick swap through all the items in your backpack with Left and Right. The interface update mentioned above will simplify the regular way to choose items from the grid, but these new controls feel great anyway.

There are some new quests to find, as well as those that unlock characters and creatures, a few more now have additional quests. But why is that Fisherman afraid of… oh!?

Just… one… last… thing… Check out the character customizer for a small festive addition.

Thanks for a great year everyone!
John Hodskinson

I feel that the new update is awful! All they have done is brought Multiplayer and a lot of bugs! I would of thought the update would be quite smooth as of the amount of LEGO games out there that are Multiplayer and by the same team! Why not use files from old games and slightly change it instead of doing the entire files again with a LOT of bugs?

This update is in Beta for a reason. The team wanted us to have an update before they took their Christmas break, but because they didn't do extensive testing and they won't have a quick fix, they decided to put it into Beta.

Your also forgetting all the bricks they added, and with the complexity of the engine required to handle the bricks, that's no small task. Plus the update fixed several other bugs that were causing crashes and performance problems.

The split-screen co-op is a totally different thing; as the world has to understand how to generate for both of the players. There are so many changes to the engine as a whole, I can't imagine that it would be smooth to add, even though all their other LEGO games have it.
I know I am very thankful for this beta update regardless! ;) - I am happy to finally see some fish in the sea :D - and squirrels running around the forest! oh yes and the 45 new bricks are for me a great Christmass gift! thank you all Devs! some of us were really thirsty for more bricks and IT was indeed a surprise treat before the end of the year!

Kinda disappointed I couldn't use the fisherman's beard and the santa hat. How can we make St. Nicholas?
If yo are doing the update after this one could you add a city biome with people and other cars that would be AWESOME

this game stiil wont work for me since update 3 please fix it or give me my money back!!!
Well you could get your money back if you had played less than 3 hours, but seeing as thats not the case there is no refund in sight. Probably just hope, OR be descriptive on what the problem is so anyone who wants to help you isn't taking a shot in the dark.

I feel disappointed that update 4 has been reduced to a beta version, with risk, after all of the hype we were given about this update. Reading all of the comments where gamers have lost stuff and lego coins plus performance, I asked my 6 year old if he would rather continue playing as is, or take the risk, and he has decided even though he too was excited about the promised update 4 by Christmas to keep the game as is... :(
I can understand your 6 year old son not wanting to lose his dragon for a mere alpha-to-beta update, and having to explore everything all over again to get his werewolf, the zombie cheerleader, the pet lion, but do you think you could convince him to be willing to expand his horizons a bit? I had to go and find my dragon again, but now I'm riding a lion. Why? Because he swims faster than the dragon flies now, or the zoomba-broomba. It doesn't take *that* long to recover props, characters, items, vehicles, or animals. A rampaging squirrel can recover your lost purple slots. Just exploring should keep you in more than enough funds to cover purchases until you finally say "it's time to buy all the props". I'm still struggling with how you consider a "beta" version update to an alpha game is so wrong. Improvement, pfft! It's BETA, you have to (big word) subscribe to the beta to get any content from the update, yesno? If you just let your kid play his game as normal, you wouldn't even know it was there. You know what, I feel disappointed, in you. You're supposed to be the guide. It's Lego. You convinced a child it's better to keep the old than to explore the new. What's the worst that could happen after a group of 1st graders upends a monopoly game? Start over. You get to ride a lion. Keep the same stuff you'll rediscover again, or get to ride a lion. Seriously. And yeah, every time you "reset", you lose coins, I've seen videos of people with 4 million "slots", what are they going to spend it on?

General, if I believed that you were an adult, I would not even bother to reply to your post as it has the maturity of a 6 year old, but I am prepared to help you by giving you the benefit of the doubt: these forums are intended to assist gamers in forming their own opinion. My post was related to my opinion which could assist others who may be wondering whether they should wait for the alpha auto release or risk the beta release (by the very nature of beta, it will be buggy) so there is no reason to play the person rather than the ball. There is no place for such tactics in these forums. PS I hope you find your fisherman beard, or maybe ask your dad to help
I would still LOVE to see enemies and characters from the LEGO Universe game that was shut down a while ago.

My post is immature, but you're wanting to enable unrealistic (ALPHA game) expecations for your child. My beard is fine, thanks for asking. Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas, new game update, and your kid sees you act exactly like a petulant child. It's a simple fix. Just delete the game. Rage-quit.
To Devs of Lego worlds,
Im still encountering some glitches that needs some fixing, a little heads up for the next update for 2016.

One thing I've noticed was if I jump using a girl character, it would dub as a boy, but if I jump twice, the character's voice would then dub as a girl finally.

Second, every 30sec-1 minute after a smooth gameplay, I experience a spike lag for a second. I dont know why it happens, my desktop is compatible with the current graphics settings. I dont know if I should decrease my settings if it needs to be that way so anyone inform me if ever. Pls take note of this :(

Third, well not really a major concern, when I ascend or descend a plane for 2-4 seconds, the vehicle sounds start to stop and return again if you fly forward.

its my second day playing Lego Worlds and Im very happy this game ever existed. Im looking forward to future updates and some added stuff for this game. (Maybe add a suggestion box in the forums so that devs would have an idea on what to put next with some opinion of players) AND, hopefully this game adds more male hair types for character creation, like the master builder's generic hair from The Lego Movie. That's all, thankyou Lego Worlds creators 👍🏼👍🏼 9/10 for me
Continuation:

So I figured out the lag spike stuff awhile ago, I didnt change my graphics setting but selected a new world and now i dont encounter lag spikes anymore. Pls fix this problem, team :(

and the other one i forgot to mention, sometimes when you dont move, your character just freezes and for it to be fixed, you either press the esc button and go back to the game again, or yung re-run the game again. More things need to be fixed for an awesome game. (This game already is tho)

This freezing relates to a message that is glitched in update 3. If you press E (or its controller counterpart) when your character freezes, it should fix the problem.

Both the lag spikes, and the freezing have been fixed in update 4 beta. To update folow the instructions at the top of this discussion

Warning: If you change to update 4, you will lose your current discoveries (worlds and builds will not be harmed) and you must use the 'clear all discoveries' feature in the options menu for the game to continue working properly. This update also comes with a host of new bugs.
Cross your fingers and hope for a bug-free alpha update 4 by the end of the week!
