Oh also, there is at least one Mars Mission vehicle in the game:

It's called the "Alien Strike Ship" in game and it's from the MT-61 Reaper set. I found it next to the pictured Polar research base, and I've only seen it one other time in the game, also next to a Polar research base. It's quite rare.
From a business perspective, it doesn't make sense to include old themes because you can't sell those Lego sets again for more money - Lego's games are half an income source and half advertising.
.... But you can sell a DLC....
That's not to say I wouldn't support it - far from it. I'm just unsure that it could ever be added.
Edit: There's another set in here from the same year as the Mars Mission one, both are going to be ten years old next year. Maybe they wanted to include some older things for the older Lego fans, for the ones that aren't kids anymore?
