Need help to find the T-Rex

Another rare thing it seems. Yet what is even rarer is finding an accurate guide to find it. Everyone says to go to the Roudy Rainforest and just search for it (that it's a rare spawn).
I've been searching for 4 hours and I haven't seen it, yet I have found the Raptor.

These "guides", some mention it's part of a quest to either find a Dino Trapper and help her (unfortunately I don't have the enclosure), or find footprints. Yet it turns out the whole footprints thing is an absolute lie (the creator of this lie claims the T-Rex can use your rocket..what a load of bull. I've been back at my rocket from searching and have not seen any footprints).

What's the correct, honest way to finding the T-Rex? Getting tired of these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t 'guides' that don't tell you everything.

I don't know for sure if there's a trigger or anything that gets them to spawn, I just found them while I was searching through the Rowdy Rainforest biome.

It seems to be downright impossible for me to the point I'm slaughtering everything in hopes they'll cough up the T-Rex.
About ready to give up. Maybe it spawned behind me and despawned so fast that I didn't see it. It's some kind of wizard dinosaur.. that or very bugged at this time.

The T-Rex spawned on top of a tree when I found it, the game's pretty strange with spawning. Best of luck to finding it. I'd guess trying to do quests for the Dino Hunter/Tamer would probably trigger the creatures to spawn, rather than aimlessly hunting them down.

Heh, I wish it was that easy for me. I've seen others have similar luck. Been trying to find the Dinosaur Enclosure build, but all I'm getting from treasure chests is a bunch of Torches and Dynamite.
Very frustrating. Guess I'll try to do some quests and see if that triggers the encounter.

EDIT: One of the quests was related to the T-Rex..and it seems the footprints aren't a lie afterall. However (from what I've seen) following them yields no results. It's a Dino Tracker that wants a picture, and she gave me the Dino Enclosure (finally).
Then there was this boss battle of a T-Rex and two Raptors. I was forced to kill them (no way to feed the T-Rex) and she gave me a few green jewels and the quest is completed.

Still have yet to see the T-Rex after that, or any of its footprints.

...Okay. what?! Clearly, the T-Rex is bugged in the latest update. Looked everywhere, couldn't find it. Tried to create a new world similar to it, thinking that would get it.
Flying around, I finally find the T-Rex...boss fight with the two raptors. This time the quest is in complete reverse (requiring yet another Crossbow and giving me another Enclosure).

Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I even did one of the random Dino Tracker quests of just building the Enclosure, and that's also not triggering the spawning of the T-Rex.

Plus when building the enclosure for the questline that spawns the boss battle, it destroys the footprints.

The T-Rex didnt spawn for me until I got a dino tooth and gave it to the dino hunter... not sure if this will help you or not. BTW I don't know if you are trying to be funny with your comments but they are hilarious. Made me LOL a few times. I saw that video with they guy who claims the T-Rex can fly the rocket LOL

Ah yes, I've also tried this. Though it was also the way on the questline to unlock the dragons. Also I'm glad I made you laugh (though I hope not at me).
I'll admit that guy's video is funny (in an entertainment way), but it's also supposed to be a helpful guide(even says it in the title). This here is misleading clickbait.
I'm sorry, but there just seems to be a recurring trend of these 'guides' not telling every step (or not giving the seed). For example, needing to do extra steps for the Dragon Wizard to unlock the dragons (instead of beating him into submission and handing him the Fire Dragon Egg).

No LOL was definitley laughing with you. I watched that video as it was supposed to be a guide and although it was funny I did not learn anything from it. Good luck on your dino quest. Hope you find that T-Rex soon!

Thanks for the luck. Going to try on the PC version (all of this time I was on the PS4 version). Though I got to start from the beginning as I haven't played it since 2016.
Once I get to the point I can try again, I'll let you guys know.

I didn't searched the T-Rex.. He found me.... very quickly and hard......

I went to the Dino-Trapper (Dino-tooth and so on), build he an "area for the dino-Familie" (the cage from Jurassic Park) and 2 Raptor appeared. (This worked everytime for me, it looks rather funny to ride on a raptor :) ).
After the first fight with the raptors, the T-Rex appered between the trees and... ... hunted me. No chance for the Bazooka and so one.
Had not tried it again, perhaps this works for you? Good luck and happy hunting!

Hmm. So you did the Dino Trapper and did her questline all the way past the Chocolate thing, and then the encounter happened?
See, my only powerful gold weapon is the Gold Katina(spelling), and I had the T-Rex literally against the wall of the cage and it kept despawning (along with the raptors).
I had to get it in the middle and killed it, then killed the raptors. Next time when I do this, I'll try to kill the raptors first. Maybe there's a set pattern.

Your encounter seems... different. You mentioned a "dino family" being the questline you got? All I got was;
"Take a picture of these Dino Footprints I found!" *Done, gives Enclosure*
"Build it for me, where I've marked it out for you!" *does, footprints get destroyed*
"I need a ranged weapon(Crossbow)!" *awards with green gem*
"Let's lure the beast in! T-Rexes love chocolate. Paint in the area I marked out." *Paints with chocolate, no reward. T-Rex and two raptors show up*
"You have to kill them before you get 'T-Rekt'!" *Defeats, awards with another green gem..ends the questline*

Let me know if this is the same way you got it, or different. If it's different, I have yet to encounter it. Did all the quests there and saw nothing like what you described.

That was definitive not my way! She asked me to built this area and then they came. (I hit the raptor with a wooden weapon the second time they appears, so I did not kill them and I could give them a BANANA... (oh my god... )) It was rather wooden area - not the normal place, where she apperas.

Very, very interesting. And is it the same biome (Rowdy Rainforest)? Also, custom world, and if so, what size did you pick?
Finally, is this a quest giver? I've seen the one with a dino bone, but all she gives is a water pistol (which is part of the questline to unlock the dragons).

I swear to you, I didn't see any quest givers have this as a quest (on the PS4 version). In a few days (once I get used to the controls) I'll try it again on the PC version. Think I'll go get AutoHotkey going for it (since there's no way to rebind the controls).
Wish there was a way to plug in my controller and use it for the PC version (as I'm more used to it).

It was the JUNGLE, large world, a world which was generated in the "search".
It was the Dino-Tracker (Hunter) girl, she had given me the waterpistol in another area.

So you just typed in JUNGLE in the Galactic Coordinates? I can't really remember the actual name of the biome.
