Why isn't the Spaceman (Yellow Suit) Playable?
I was curious if there is something special about this character? I unlocked him and can spawn that character in the game as an NPC, but can't play as it. I can play as the other spacemen though. Thanks!

Check the animal section on the Discovery tool. I doubt it, but some characters aren't playable.
Yeh it's a bit disappointing because I'm sure the yellow spaceman was the favourite of some[i.imgur.com]. A few of his parts are still available separately in the customizer but no chest, legs or hips. So you end up with this:

You would think this is a bug but the absence of yellow hips and legs at least might be intentional, LEGO could conclude that makes a naked minifigure... they are sorta sensitive on the subject.

Could've at least had the torso, assuming it was done intentionally... or just allowed the whole character model, but not certain individual parts, like some of the other characters (If I recall correctly). Did you figure out how to turn off the tv effect, Hymn? it's in the options menu ;)

Yeh eventually I got it. I figured it had to be in the Effects Settings so when I didn't find it there I went looking for it in the PCCONFIG.TXT without success. I hastily concluded that they might have forgotten it ;)

After a bit I spotted it when I went in the settings to turn off Tool Camera Collision.

Sheesh, diving into the game files the first chance you get, ha! In case you missed it, now there's a proper HUD toggle in the menu as well, huzzah! Happy space-trails! And look out for those blue spaceships, the astronauts keep smashing them into their own structures! :O

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure if my game was bugged or if there was a legit reason. At least I know it wasn't just me now!

The HUD toggle is cool, but it also removes the mouse pointer. makes it difficult to navigate menus (e.g. when trying to switch on the HUD again) and selecting tools. @Devs: Could you please enable the mouse pointer in no HUD mode??

You may be right, but that's mad. Action Man (GI Joe) was never so sensitive and every doll my sister ever owned was stripped and changed regularly. Unless Lego are planning to make anatomically correct figures (ugg...) this type of thinking is just craziness. They seem to be the only toy manufacturer concerned about this 'issue' and they certainly weren't when they produced the yellow space man originally. Naked Lego... well I suppose a lunatic concept like that fits the lunar theme.

Try holding the - key to make the menu appear when you need it. It does the opposite when the HUD is on so it is worth a shot.
I was really bummed when I found that I couldn't play as the Yellow Spaceman. It's just weird to leave it unplayable when all the others are, I mean, why's he in the game if he's not playable?
The only thing we know is that the absence of the yellow suit was already the case in preview versions.

Whether it's bug or is at some level intentional is all 100% speculation until we learn more.

The nudity hypothesis fails to explain why the torso isn't there, and imo doesn't really make sense for the legs either. We will get an answer soon enough.
Perhaps they could make some parts with a fig leaf motif on them?
